  1. Received the Kernow exclusive Moger. Very impressive in all aspects. The brake gear is particularly fine with separate inner/outer Vee hangars and proper split push rods for the brake blocks. What's also a very neat piece of design is the draw gear rods double up as the centering device for the coupling pockets. Looking forward to the SECR & LBSC wagons later in the year.
  2. I can sort of see why Hornby recommend using the opened chimney as it seems to force the steam up one opening. I haven't got one but I wonder what would happen to the steam if you cut the "web" in the bottom half of the double chimney back leaving it open below but still looking like a double chimney from the top. Wonder if it would help direct the blast up both openings?
  3. Having spent time last year smartening up the paintwork on the sole survivor I have been looking for one to add to my collection. I would definitely put my name down for a couple of them. Seen on the 19th April last year:
  4. That's a very long development period on them models!
  5. From what I remember there is two different chimneys being modelled. It's probably easier from a tool-making point of view to split the chimney there and just change the top half than have it in one piece and end up having two or more smoke box mouldings.
  6. The most recent Newsletter had an image of the boiler/firebox and cab being castings.
  7. This has appeared on Facebook this morning. Have to say it's looking absolutely fantastic! Amazing level of detail under the boiler and in the cab.
  8. They do look rather nice. Not ordered any yet but may do seeing them now they have arrived. Does anyone know what the green stripes on the corners of the vans mean?
  9. The email did mention the green being wrong on the SECR livery Edit, crossed with Frans reply. Also looks like they missed the lighter green between the Red/Yellow lining. Don't think 556 is preservation livery because to my knowledge none of the P's have carried SR livery in pres. Probably should both be green.
  10. Rails have posted an image of the livery samples this morning. I've not ordered any yet but the early livery is really looking great and would break up my mostly Maunsell era livery rolling stock.
  11. When you search Accurascale you get a load more products listed. 37's, 50's, Banana Vans and more.
  12. That is some attention to detailing with the patterning in the polishing of the splasher and valence!
  13. Might be they are locked in by factory capacity and so the can't increase the run rather than don't want to.
  14. Ion't know if that's correct for that livery. The news letter did say there were corrections to make after reviewing these first painted samples so that may be on the list.
  15. Looks like the top valve chest of the cylinders could be a separate part and isn't seated down at the back properly causing the spindle to point towards the solebar.
  16. I may have missed this previously but are the dumb buffers shown in the renders a separate part on LNER No. 986? Cheers
  17. But it's good for people who don't want to or unable to renumber they can have a pair of individual locos straight out of the box.
  18. At least being removable to access the DCC socket it makes it easier to swap out for the correct door.
  19. Mine was done about 20 minutes ago. Is it normal that the final order total doesn't include VAT? I see up an Accurascale account after getting the email from Hattons and put my address in (UK) but doesn't appear to be VAT on the order.
  20. The email I got from Hattons said orders would move over to Accurascale unless I didn't want it to move. Excellent news, I had a feeling these models wouldn't be dead after Hattons announced they wee closing.
  21. Just had an email from Hornby announcing the Transport for Wales Black Class 67. Due next month.
  22. Probably a few commissions yet to be announced. I know of at least one as I was working with the person who commissioned them for a fundraiser to help with livery selection.
  23. Mine was very tight to start with. Ended up using a small screwdriver on each side to wiggle it out. After a few times in/out to test with the body off it eased up.
  24. There was video of the Locomotion No.1 running sample.
