  1. A CDA with a roller roof that looks the part! I’ll have 15 please. 66738
  2. Oh dear. I tried to kid myself that I was happy with my Hornby NEM versions. That I had a rake of 23 differently numbered wagons and I was happy and wouldn’t be tempted. But it’s no good. The prices are decent and the choice is amazing. I mean, if you have the funds, you are able to assemble a 36 rake in one foul swoop. No waiting for other releases to complete your rakes. This is going to test my resolve BIG time for my North layout, but I fear I’m going to easily succumb to the CDA’s for my future Cornwall based layout. Just like the ‘Revised version’ of the Hornby HAA looked alright to me, the revised version of the CDA looked alright to my eye as far as the body and chassis were concerned but the roller roof was never convincing and this really let it down. I will look forward to seeing further details on these wagons shortly. Congratulations on this project. You will do very well. 66738
  3. They do mate. Give the bags a shake. They are definitely in there. In mine, some are separate lose stanchions and in one or two boxes the stanchions are on a sprue. 66738
  4. Aggghhh! I was out and missed the delivery. Going to have to wait until tomorrow now before I can get my hands on my Rails BBA packs A and B. Edit: Went to the post Office just on the off chance they had already got there, and they were. Amazing chaps. I love the slight differences in variation. 66738
  5. The latter livery (12/10/86) is what I’m really after. No headlight. 66738
  6. I agree. There are times when I think Heljan may have turned the corner and at last are getting things right. Then absolutely ridiculous stuff happen like these black grills and I just shake my head and say “For *profanity* sake, what the eck is wrong with them?” In this day and age we have a wealth of images at our fingertips. Just 30 seconds of research shows they don’t have black grills. If it’s a factory error, this should not be happening. They should have colours of body parts in fine detail. It’s not hard to get it right but Heljan (and they really are not alone on this as others mess up regularly as well) seem to struggle with this. It’s just Lazy and sloppy to be getting things so wrong in this day and age. I’ve somehow missed this thread over the last few days. Reading that Eastleigh and Sultan were the new tooling got me all excited for all of 30 seconds until I read on about the error. Another couple of sales needlessly down the drain AGAIN Heljan! I just wish the new boys in town (Accurascale and Cavalex) modelled all my wants and needs as they seem to give a *profanity*. 66738
  7. They’ve been looking into the limited number of Blue 56’s for years. They’ve been looking into the lack of blue 31/4’s for even longer. Perhaps It’s because A) They don’t run on coal and B) Br Blue is too mundane. It’s not quirky enough. They like a one off livery, that is only relevant for about a year. Who’d want a livery that was about for nigh on 30 years? I wouldn’t hold yer breath that the boss man is going to be proactive. 66738

Yes, but nothing a bit of weathering can’t sort. 66738
  9. What a cracking job you have done with this wagon. I am blown away by it. I can’t wait for packs A and B from Rails to arrive. For quite some time I have wondered if Bachmann's BAA’s were not quite the correct shade of red. I am now convinced it needs to be more slightly orange. So much so, I’ve had a go at respraying a BAA. Looks better for it! Thanks again for these wonderful gems. 66738
  10. Dagworth (Andi) has very kindly sorted me out with a set. Much appreciated Andi! 66738
  11. If anyone has a spare set of 4 Heljan class 58 cab door handrail guards, I would be willing to pay £5 plus postage for them. cheers 66738
  12. Wanted. A Hornby R6761 HAA new tooling with sprung buffers. Coal sector branding. Running number 356318. Will pay £25, or even £30 if boxed, plus postage. cheers 66738
  13. My Cawoods S and T Packs arrived today to supplement packs A B C and D. Very nice! 66738
  14. Hornby produced 353224 in their old tooling. It had the blue frames and ECC branding, so I presumed in real life at some point it did go into the standard livery. I’d really like it if it was in service for a while with red frames mixed in with the standard livery production wagons. 66738
  15. And well I’m here, I notice the new R6964 ECC Triple pack of CDA’s are numbered not in the 375*** series but 352916/18/19. I can’t find any information about when these numbers were carried. Anybody? 66738
  16. I see prototype 353224 is included in the new R6963 Hornby National Wagon Preservation Group Hopper Wagons pack. Yes, it would need a bit of modelling to get it right, but could anyone tell me how long it kept its red frame? Did it go into standard ECC blue frame and logo livery? Many thanks in anticipation. 66738

Anyone heard anything about these? 66738
  18. I wonder why both Blue Domino versions (25093 and 25252) have Been chosen? Both fairly early withdrawals (1982 and 1980 respectively). Hope examples that went on longer follow at a later date. If they turn out nicely I can see Ice cream van and Ethel 1 being purchased. 66738
  19. Yes, 117305/B430 (all 3 cars I think) did work the Looe line. Flickr “Looe Dmu“ and image at Liskerd is there. 66738
  20. I filed rivets down and touched paint around windows back in. Going to be 47004 when I get round to it. Sorting them horrendous bulbous marker lights out helps. 66738
  21. I’m pretty sure 47625 City Of Truro is headlight fitted, but you are right about no cant rail stripe. 66738
  22. I’m not surprised Fran. It is a fantastic model. An excellent subject choice on your part. What’s not to love about them?! I may just buy a BF pack, and hope someone wants a container swap. Failing that get the airbrush out. (I‘d rather not do that but it’s an option in reserve.) 66738
  23. Thank you for the list. You are correct in suspecting there would be no matches. Never mind. Come on Lads! Get some Cawoods container 3 packs sold. You’d soon shift those remaining BF Packs. 66738
  24. Yes I did consider this, but the OCD kicked in as I didn’t like the idea of pairing certain number wagons with BF containers when I wasn’t sure them wagons Actually did carry British Fuels containers. If I had a definitive list of what Cawood PFA’s went over to BF, I might feel more comfortable selling them on. It sounds a bit crazy but that’s me. Also just how easy it would be to sell mismatched BF’s I’m not sure. They seem to be the least popular of the first run of wagons. 66738
