  1. Another one of 91119 at Huntingdon, taken nearly 1 year ago when she was fresh out of NL with a good clean! She was working the 1D09 London Kings Cross to Leeds
  2. There's a couple of minor differences such as 90001's grille is white instead of yellow, as well as LED lights instead of the originals and that little bit on the roof (name escapes me!) that was added later on as well.
  3. It will be better but not by much, the only bit of proper diecast on it is the upper arm and the part where the contact shoe sits (or whatever it's called) . The rest of it is plastic.
  4. Hmm something doesn’t look right about the light clusters on the DVT. They don’t seem to be as recessed as the real ones do.
  5. Just thought I’d show a couple of photos: The first one is Little Barford Substation. This has been altered a lot since it was first built in the 1930s. Originally single circuit PL4s and PL7s using double earth wire and double circuit towers going to Bedford, Corby and Peterborough. By the late 60s each of these lines had been doubled, the line to Peterborough was down rated to 33kV and terminated on a PL16 DT at Eaton Socon. The PL4 line to Corby however remained. The other PL4 line was also doubled and a PL16 DD40 was added and split the line, with one going on single circuit PL4s to the east of the substation and the other going on then newly erected PL16DD towers to the PL7 DD60 which has been repurposed as a DD40 at this point. It would join the PL1S line from Bedford and terminate at the west side of the substation. A new PL16 line from Fulbourn was now also terminating there. Fast forward to the late 90s when the new power station opened the PL4 line from Corby had been removed as far as the then new Eaton Socon substation and replaced with L7s. The PL4 line from Bedford remained intact but was rerouted along the line of PL16s to the west side of the substation where an L4M DJT was built. The PL7 line now terminates just before the substation on an L4M DT. Today the main substation compromises of PL16, L4M, PL4, PL7 and L7 towers. The next photo is of Balfour Beatty L6 D40EC 4ZM 198 on the approach to Burwell substation in the thick fog we had a few weeks ago.
  6. 91119 seems to be popular and I managed to get a DSLR camera back in October 2020 and so I decided to attempt to get 91119 in a better shot. The results payed off and here it is powering through Huntingdon on a service to Leeds on the 27th of October 2020. And while I’m at it I might as well add a photo of 91114 at Offord Cluny on January 1st 2021 in the fading light.
  7. Here’s my current project: I have decided to make a Hornby pylon look more like a PL1 as despite it being under scale, it does look like the early PL1 type of pylon and once new insulators are added and a small height extension is added it improves the look of it by a lot! I will also be adding some anti climbing wires to the bottom as well.
  8. It would also need new LEDs as well to be prototypical.
  9. I forgot to add the lens, my apologies. But still, it’s less expensive than designing and retooling an entire new cab. They don’t have an EMT light cluster tooling so they could and probably will use the LNER/GWR/SR bodyshell. Even then iirc the lighting would have to be changed. Still though, why the extra £15?? I understand that it’s part of the 1:1 collection but that doesn’t justify the price rise. Especially when the dummy can be sold on its own for £70
  10. About the headlight issue, surely they could at least drill another hole in the roof and put the cab light closer to the end of the roof. That means that the cab light (for once) has some usefulness and shouldn’t really add to the cost as much. That could justify the higher price but then again knowing the recent QC issues that hole could be anywhere!
  11. Is the 'A' frame one common in depots? If so I may need some for my layout!
  12. Hmm I just had a look at the Hurst models one and it looks very similar, perhaps the moulds got sent to Hurst after Bratchell retired it? The hurst one is definitely similar to what I’m looking for though. Cheers, Matthew
  13. Yeah it has to be, as it’s lesser detailed compared to the Hornby one and would fit in better. I did see that one on eBay but after looking it’s one of those horrid MTK ones! Cheers, Matthew
  14. Looking for a Bratchell Models Mk3 DVT in the Intercity Swallow livery to go with my Hornby Intercity Class 90 Cheers, Matthew
  15. Here’s my thoughts: Steam: A full-spec 9F Crosti A WD 2-10-0 Possibly another influx of Railroad 9Fs, with preserved examples such as 92214 in its BR Green, 92134 as that has returned and possibly a rerun of Black Prince (that’ll probably be the case having just got hold of the 2000 limited edition!) An S-160 Diesel/electric: Any of the early AC electrics (classes 81-84) 43185 in its IC Swallow livery The LNER Farewell HST A rerelease of the EMT/EMR HST Ex GC EMT HST Blue Pullman HST 91119 in its IC Swallow livery More class 87s, 87012 in its NSE livery or some DRS or GBRf 87s, or maybe 87101 in its late 90s BR Blue livery! I could see them doing a Bulgarian 87 as well to go with their European collection. (87004-8 perhaps?) Coaches: Mk4 coaches and DVTs Retooled HST Mk3s and possibly the Oxford Mk3As but with minor changes to make them better suited, Mk3B coaches as well so then we can get a BFO, and more Mk3 DVTs in liveries such as Greater Anglia, LSL IC Swallow and unbranded BR Blue (82115) The list goes on and on but they’re the main ones I can think of!
  16. Well 90039 has been outshopped in its new livery with a base of black from its Grand Central days and it looks amazing! Hopefully another livery Bachmann will make! (Photo from Flickr)
  17. Nice one! Did you pick out the grille in white or have they been repainted yellow on the real thing?
  18. Does anyone have any good images showing the roof of 90035 with its DATS pantograph on as I am looking at making it?

  20. Here's 91127 passing Offord Cluny heading northbound to Leeds 27/09/20
  21. They have announced an FL green one and 86401 in its CS guise
