  3. Here's a picture of a Union Pacific Railroad train in Jefferson, Louisiana. The Big Boy(4014) steam locomotive had just crossed the Mississippi River along the Huey P.   4. Here's a couple of pictures of a train crossing the Colorado River near Topock, Arizona. In the first picture, a BNSF Railway train is heading westbound towards Barstow, California in 2017. In the second picture, a Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway train is heading eastbound towards Kingman, Arizona in 1996. Topock is across the Colorado River from Needles, California along the Interstate 40(I-40) freeway.   8. I really want to ride on the CZ between Salt Lake City and Denver one of these days. I have driven in the Glenwood Canyon along the Interstate 70(I-70) freeway so many times over the years as a professional truck driver, but I would like to traverse the Glenwood Canyon from a train one day.   12. Mick, this may be a little stretch. Another rail route to see in the Bay Area is the Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit(SMART) commuter system.   13. Good question, Phil. I couldn't find any information about what percent grade is it to/from the Smith & Ninth Streets Station.   18. In the October 2021 issue of Model Railroader magazine, Lance Mindheim built a N scale Brooklyn Terminal layout with some street running of First Avenue. You can also see this 1940's themed layout on the www.lancemindheim.com website. The February 2018 issue of Trains magazine has a detailed article on the present-day New York New Jersey Rail system.
