Hiya Kevin, thanks for the suggestion but I think I'll pass on that for now as I wasn't looking for anything specific, but it's definitely worth bearing in mind if I'd like to see something on an old thread of interest I was looking at, real shame about all those photos, a painful reminder to back files up.

Thank you for your advice Ian and Mikkel, you are correct Ian in that I can see recent photos, it's a great shame to lose all that old material isn't it, I was hoping to look back at photos of older layouts to get ideas for my own, the one I've been going to build since 1962 !! ah well never mind.

This may be in the wrong section, if so my apologies, I am a simple soul who gets by on his computer (albeit not without difficulty at times) and all I want is to be able to open the images that accompany some of the articles on here but all I get is "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below" My question is how do I open these xml files ??

  5. Hi, am about to have a go at copperclad pointwork using code 40 rail soldering using those little solder balls ~ anyone used them on track construction if so what size should I go for Cheers Paul
