  1. Interesting photos Andy . I drive by there a lot and saw the cattle dock appear from the undergrowth . I think it was to allow a better view of the Tescos sign for passing trade . However I never managed to stop as I am in a lorry and parking isn't good around there . Towards the main road there is still at least one original building to photograph . Grab it incase it gets lost . Thanks for sharing and I am now more determined to visit . Mike b
  2. I am sure most of them will trade if need be . Generally better looking to see if they will trade for a different piece of stock rather than money ( but that is up to the individuals ) Mike b
  3. George , It's in the pack you get when you arrive. Not needed during set up on Thursday just for Friday to Sunday . Cheers Mb
  4. I think the majority of us " buy for future use " . That's why we have drawers , cupboards , garages , houses , lofts full of ' stuff ' ! As far as the household authorities are concerned it is all being currently used though M b
  5. Morning All , Well we are now on the final countdown to the ' Glasgow show ' as it's usually gets called . I look forward to welcoming you to the show and hope you all have an enjoyable time . And here comes my usual bit ! If there is anything that you are not happy with , while visiting , please ask to see me and I will try to resolve your problem as best I can . I would prefer you aired your views to me first rather than going home and posting up on here . Once you have left it is harder to help than when you are face to face with me - I don't bite . I have an office we can go to if needed and have a quiet chat or just see you where you ask to meet me . You can just tell us you have had a great day out as well - there is usually a visitors book at stand 1 to write in ( remember when we used to do that !) We have put a vast amout of work into bringing you this show and all for the love of the hobby - not for profit , self gratification or to be held up high by the visitors ( you will struggle with the last one with me ) . Any info required should with be on here already or on the Model Rail Scotland 2018 web site . One question which has been raised ( off here ) is with regards to the little shuttle buggy thing that runs from the car park to the door closest to hall 3 . It runs all day and is there for use by the disabled visitors or those of you who may be a little infirm . If you need me please see any of the stewards or ask for me at stand 1 ( that's the one joined onto the class 47 sales one at the front door ) . My details are Mike Bartle Operations Manager Call sign Oscar 1 . See you all soon and please try to have a good day out ...... Mike b
  6. Mrs GR does the same as Mrs NB Mick . As usual you never REALLY know whether they are just humouring you or not ! Mike b
  7. I'll bring you a brolly Gorge ....... Seriously though the SEC assured us that the roof was being seen to last summer so here's hoping . Hopefully the weather is a little better for you all travelling as well . Last year was rough . See you all soon Mike b
  8. Oops George ! Will say to Andy to change it . Mike b
  9. Just to clarify - the guidebook is free to everyone attending the show . Mike b
  10. Did the Carlisle to Newcastle run a long time ago - most of it was still jointed track ......exciting to say the least ! I keep promising myself another run somewhere sometime ...... Another favourite of mine was a few runs on the parry people carrier to Stourbridge . Mike b
  11. Ye live close enough - you could have gone and waited ...... Mike b
  12. Spectacular start . I look forward to seeing more . Mike b
  13. Clive , Just get a chair of the same height on castors . Or One of those office type are good with the hydraulic height adjust . This allows you to move sideways and also pump yourself up a little if you need to reach further across the layout without actually getting off your backside . Remember :- comfort is a must and it allows you to maintain your fighting weight that you have taken so long to achieve . Also Fit a drinks area to the layout - this could be can or mug holders . Consider where your plate of biscuits or sandwhich will also sit during operation . Best regards from the Ayrshire riviera Mike b
  14. All too true unfortunately ! 30 years ago to just go straight to class 1 cost near enough a £1000. I still enjoy driving but the main thing missing now is unity between drivers - it's very much a case of everyone for themselves ! I will help if I can but other drivers are quite shocked . Shame really . Mike b
  15. And from two different colours - easy to do with a razor saw and some super glue ...... This is giving me thought for my viaduct section I am going to model . Keep going lads ( and lasses ) ... Mike b
