  2. from one extreme to the other , eh Tim ? so have you thought of building a full scale engine? traction or otherwise ? enjoy the Summer EB Andy
  3. Morning all ; just wondering . . . . anything occurring in The Fields at the mo ? it's been a bit quiet lately . v. . speak soon EB Andy.
  4. Tim , don't forget to bung plenty of Thornbury holiday snaps (!) on RMWeb, for those of us poor souls who won't be allowed to pop down from Potters Bar . . . .
  5. Thanks Nick B . . . . i think i'll give the ready made item a bash . . . . . ( banana like fingers and beer bottle bottom specs preclude me from doing a "Tim W " rebuild !
  6. Afternoon chaps ; apologies , as this is undoubtedly the wrong place for this question , but i couldn't get in to the n gauge bit , so the carpet monster ate the front bogie of my Dapol n gauge LNER B-17 (please don't ask . . . ) . and Dapol can't supply a replacement , nor can their agent DCC Supplies , or Peter's Spares, . . . anyone got any suggestions ? , like maybe what locos have a similar sized front bogie , so i can buy a clapped out model on ebay , ( there are no clapped out B17s at the mo ) and butcher it to fit . . . . i did start this off with an apology ( and if the authorities want to delete this , so be it . . . ) but thanks in advance Andy
  7. Tim , brilliant to see CF looking so good at Keen House yesterday . . . . any chance of something in Great Northern livery , after the skittle alley is up and running? regards Andy.
  8. do you ever think you are spreading yourself too thinly ? ??
  9. hello CF gang ; how's NER no. 2400 coming along? been a bit quiet lately . . . . . regards E B Andy
  10. thanks for that chaps ; next time i make the journey , i'll know exactly where i am vis a vis my favourite layout! bfn, Andy.
  11. Hello folks ; just travelled from Kings Cross platform 10 to Potters Bar. counted 4 , i think , tunnels by the time we got to the Emirates Stadium. anyone know which one was the Gasworks Tunnel? ( and therefore the next one was Copenhagen ; obviously ! ) best wishes all Andy.
  12. any new stuff on CF Tim? or your own workbench ? maybe you are just taking a well earned breather from all things 2mm fs . . . . .
  13. Tim , looking forward to seeing some snaps of CF this weekend ! brilliant stuff as ever E B Andy
  14. thanks skip, i'll give one a go . . . .
  15. Tim , who flogs the "good white metal" kit you 've just turned into a masterpiece ? and did you have those two Austin 7s ( i think ) up your sleeve , or were they there all the time and I failed to notice them ? EB Andy
  16. that's brilliant Tim : , puts my Oxford cab to shame . . .still , horses for courses i suppose. looking forward to the next one, and also the BI signal boxes from the others . . . ???
  17. Tim , this may be sacrilege to even contemplate . . . .but CF needs loads of road vehicles , so would you ever contemplate buying in , say , a dozen Oxford Diecast 1930s taxicabs , to stick on York Way? when i was a nipper , in 1952 or so , my dad took me up to KX to meet a family he'd been billeted on in Cape Town in 1942 ish , who were passing through London ; long story. but I , being about five years old , was impressed by the quantity of cabs there, (and also by the giant bunch of bananas sitting on the luggage shelf of our cab alongside the driver ) ( but that is yet another story ) . any thoughts? regards Andy.
  18. and there was me Tim , thinking you were the only one beavering away in these dark days . . . . maybe if they have the time , some of the others could show us how their projects are coming along ? regards Andy.
  19. just had a thought Tim; with all this wonderful new stuff at York Road , and the magnificent trains in the middle , won't there be a bit of a scrum , at the next public viewing , with the fans coagulating (?) at one end ? seems to me you'll need to do something equally inspiring at the north end . . . any ideas ? E B Andy
  20. Thanks for that Tim . As you said , still enough to keep you busy for a year or two; especially as , with six (!) KX Goods loops , you'll need lots more rolling stock . . .. !
  21. Tim , in your 10th Oct post you talked , sorry typed ( ! ) of work to be done , including " more operational capabilities" . Can you be more explicit please? and is there a track plan for CF readily shareable? I have one from the 2017 Stevenage brochure ( ah , happy days ! ) but it doesn't look quite right. . . regards Andy.
  22. Tim , not wishing to appear foolish , i hesitate to ask . . . .but are all the buildings on CF mounted , so to speak , on metal sheeting? and my son works for TfL, who annually produce a small selection of badges for Armistice day ; one of which , i realised , represented the York Road style of UndergrounD sign, horizontally , and surrounded by poppies. if i can photo it , and get it on this machine , would you be interested in a snap? don't feel bad about saying " not b likely" ! regards Andy.
  23. Valour still in the paint shop Tim? ( the novelty of the lockdown is beginning to wear off . . .) regards Potters Bar Andy
  24. thanks for the info , old chap ; as soon as it hits the shelves i'll rush down to the newsagent ( if I'm allowed out of my house ) !!! regards and thanks again Andy.
  25. damn shame Ally Pally is cancelled/postponed. Please , Tim , occasionally send details of progress made and snaps , , otherwise i'll get CF withdrawal symptoms ! ( if no others ! ) Regards EB Andy.
