  1. Good Morning to All We (Aldgate Hill & Norton Folgate) thoroughly enjoyed the week end, the layout ran well and we met lots of interesting and interested people, would like to congratulate Chris and the team for an excellent show (and superb cakes in the 'operators lounge, thank you ladies) , loved the sense of space. Jim, Dave and Phil.
  2. Thanks Mark for another excellent show, good to talk to friends old and new. Take a deep breath and, rest until next year. Cheers Jim B.
  3. For a low key first attempt it was a right good effort, well done all those who exhibited, helped behind the scenes or attended as a visitor. Looking forward to next year. Regards.
  4. Not on topic but, I just want to say a big thank you to Ian, without your TT rolling stock (the van kits in particular)I doubt that I would ever have started my obsession with 3mm scale.
  5. Sounds like a good way to spend a few hours and for a good cause too. I understand that there will also be a display of Military vehicles in 1/56 scale, so 2 birds as they say, see you there.
  6. All done for another year, very well done to Mark and his band of happy helpers, with a special thanks to all those who asked about Steve (well that would be everyone then). Good to meet a fellow Overhead Railway enthusiast Pete B, looking forward to seeing our efforts next year Pete, who knows I might have something to show by then.. On the layout side Newhaven, Brewery Sidings, Hastings and Canal Sidings stood out for me. Regards to all.
  7. Unfortunately due to Steve's illness we had to withdraw our 7mm layout (Prince's Dock) with a short stretch of LOR on it. But in it's place I will be Demo-ing the LOR structure instead, thanks Mark. See you all on Saturday. Regards.
  8. Steve and I attended with Cley-Next-The-Sea (not Westgate Shed as advertised, space issue in the camper van) in 3mm or TT as it used to be called, great weekend as usual well done Bill. Hopefully back next year with a new layout in 4mm for Steve. Thanks to David and Sue for the assistance.
  9. Just looking at my records and on the 2/08/69 D9500, D9509 & D9519 were still on Cardiff Canton and on the 4th/08/69 D9521, D9524, D9536, D9538 & D9555 were on Landore sheds, all, by this time withdrawn. Funny how the memory plays tricks I was sure that one or more was running at the time, highly unlikely I know. My previous visit to Canton in 1968 had D9500, D9514, D9517, D9527 & D9530 on shed. Happy days indeed.
  10. Always a great show, Steve and I will be there as visitors this year. Might even get to go on the bus this year. Three Miller
  11. Truly a magnificent show and a great day out. Thanks to all the organisers and to all those who took part. Jim. & Steve
  12. Unfortunately we won't be able to attend this year (Steve's condition dictates) it is all shaping up to be a good one, we were particularly looking forward to seeing Weaver Hill and just watching the trains go by, so good luck guys, see you all soon. J&S
  13. Hi Mark, As sad loss indeed, we (two couples with 2 very small children, Steve was 5 months old) spent a glorious week there in 1985. I can still remember the colour of the bath water - Peat colour (straight off the hill side). All Class 26s then with 26035 in the main if memory serves. Very Happy days. Thanks for rekindling the little grey cells, Jim.
