  1. To my untrained eye the three closest to the camera.... which i believe are 59001, 59002 and 59005 (005 being in the middle as it was then brand new i think) seem to have a darker blue band than 59003 & 004 behind. Im wondering if 005 got the darker blue as built and at the time of the open day day 001 & 002 had received the darker blue band but 003 & 004 had yet to have the same treatment????
  2. Because there is big group of folk who for them its the wrong scale...... were waiting for the OO gauge version to be announced. 😉 The gents at Revolution have got to cave in and agree to do it soon surely.... we need a Revolution OO gauge 59 to stick on the front of their OO gauge JNA wagons.
  3. I keep looking at these pics.... and the one of 59101 above and thinking 'N gauge... really..... is that really N gauge' it looks perfect, it looks like its OO gauge...... im another one who thinks this really needs to be upscaled to OO gauge, i think i may have mentioned it before once or twice...... competition is a good thing...... its not like were asking you to make a OO gauge class 31 is it, lol.
  4. 69009 has entered Eastleigh's paint shop, what livery it will emerge in is any ones guess.
  5. Are all the liveries coming as a twin pack as shown here or just this 'EWS Construction' version? Not that it really matters, im after the Mendip versions so will be buying anyway, i was just curious, i assumed they were all individual as per the JNA box wagons?
  6. The lights have been an issue with mods having had to be done to make them prototypical. (see the Dapol oo gauge thread) The NRN radio pods are in the wrong place. The exhaust sits far to high. And finally, the one that bugs me the most..... the shape of the chassis under the cab is completely the wrong shape. All except the chassis error can be sorted, but given that we have locos of the quality as the Cavelex 56, Accurascale 37 and 55 why should we have to? I don't think Dapols 59 meets the standards expected these days.
  7. Fair comment, but it has to be said if Dapol went over that "line in the sand" and then slowed/stopped development allowing Revolution to jump in their and overtake them than thats Dapols fault... if they had got on with it, designed it, tooled it and got it into production and onto shop shelves would Revolution have even bothered doing a 59???
  8. A couple more MXA Lobster wagons with new running numbers would be nice.
  9. I dont model N gauge but had a look at this thread as i like 59s, this model just seems to be a down scaled version of the 00 gauge model..... and i can see all the faults on the N gauge version that i can on the 00 version. Im at a bit of a loss as to why Dapol have gone up against Revolution with the class 59 with it being a small class, the Revolution class 59 just looks so much better. Ive still not purchased a 00 gauge Dapol 59 despite being a big fan of the real things, i still cling on to this hope (despite being told it wont happen) that Revolution will upscale their N gauge 59 to 00 gauge to make something far superior to the Dapol version..... as they have done in N gauge.
  10. Does anyone know if any of the trade sellers had any Cavalex 56s for sale?
  11. Indeed...... and we've not had a revised NSE one announced yet either..... 50016 or 50027 would be nice.... Just saying Fran 🙏
  12. Not sure if this deserves a topic in itself, i have 2 x Mk2s on order and a class 66, both due soon i believe, are these models going to arrive at the same time? Are they all in the same container?
  13. I'm a bit unsure about asking for this loco/livery but i would like a model of GBRfs 66711 in Aggregate Industries livery, i had a very short cab ride on it down at Isle of Grain a few years back so would like a model of it. I know Bachmann have done a model of it and it sat around on shelves for quite a while but ive never determined if that was because Bachmann over produced it or if it was genuinely unpopular, either way i cant quite bring myself to buy the Bachmann model because as stated above in various posts, it looks so dated. An Accurascale version would certainly get my wallet open. Ive also had a ride onboard... 66502 whilst in G&W Orange 66537 whilst in FL Green 66538 whilst in FL Green 66580 whilst in FL Green 66589 whilst in FL Green .......... so any of those would be nice. (but please, not all at once, even my wallet has a limit, lol)
  14. Happy new year Ian, layout is looking great.
  15. Maybe they have literally just landed and Hornbys staff aren't back from crimbo yet to update their website about pre orders..... looking at the pic the carpet the box is on looks like an office/shop type carpet, certainly not the type of carpet you have at home, and its lent up against a standard cardboard box. I reckon someone has had a delivery during the xmas/new year break got it straight out the card board box and started taking pics and posting on Ebay?
  16. Is there any updates on these please? Just wondered if there was any info on what the pack sizes will be and how production and delivery is going? With Revolution (and Kernow) soon to be releasing there next batch of JNAs im trying to balance the books so to speak?
  17. A very poor description on my behalf but yes thats the ones i meant. There is one parked next to the weighbridge presumably waiting repairs this week. I noted there was a Hanson liveried JHA on the back of a truck either being delivered or taken away ( i suspect the latter) this week, cant remember if it was Thursday or Friday i seen it.
  18. I assume the Procors are the ones that look nearly the same but have different ends on them, at the top/end they drop straight down to the sloped bit.... they also look a bit lower/squat than these being done by Dapol?
  19. Im not keen on the Dapol class 59.... it has a lot of faults for a loco that took as long as it did to be produced and i dont think it matches the level of quality and detail as locos being released recently, i was very dissapointed with it. However, if it is going cheap i could be tempted........ but i have to ask, is Hattons website always so dam hard to make work, i cant find any class 59s, let alone cheap ones?
  20. Have to agree about the headlights looking chunky..... anyway, i have to say my eyes kept being drawn towards the bogies and under frame...... it looks absolutely superb, im well impressed with those!
  21. Well im not a TT:120 modeler, but as my profile pic probably hints at, i am a class 50 fan...... and i think it looks pretty bloody good, i did really look at it to try and find some faults and the only thing that jumps out (and Im surprised nobody else has picked up on it) as clearly being wrong is the foot steps up to the buffers, they curve but should be a 90 degree angle.....but that's all i could see to moan about. Im not sold on the snow ploughs but then Im not sold on the OO gauge ploughs either.... As for the height difference between the loco and stock id urge folk to actually look at the track the whole lot is sat on, to my eyes the front of the loco looks higher than the rear and im convinced its the track its sat on. I personally think the face of the loco is spot on, annoyingly so because i look at the TT:120 model and think how did Hornby get that so right and the OO scale (which is my chosen scale) one so wrong???? I would actually suggest Hornby give their OO scale 50 a bit of a refresh and redo the front end based on this TT:120 one, loose the silly working radiator slats and i think they might then actually be able to compete with the all new Accurascale model.
  22. Im starting to get confused as to what is what now, im really only interested in the ones operated out of the Mendips by Freightliner (and previously DB). I have a very nice rake of the previous Mendip Rail silver ones that were exclusive to Kernow and i shall certainly buy some of their new Mendip Silver ones. I will also certainly by a number (probably a large number) of the Touax liveried wagons. However there are now a large number of blue ones with VTG branding appearing in the mendips, however there are also a large number of blue one appearing with DC Rail and GBRf elsewhere in the country. Is the the Blue VTG wagon that is listed by Revolution in this latest batch one from the Mendip pool or from elsewhere. The same question applies to the plain silver one in the latest batch?
  23. I suspect like other being heavily committed to OO gauge i have been very tempted by various O gauge locos over the years but have always resisted, despite some very serious wobbles...... this however may well make me take the plunge. You see i have a very good friend who owns one of these locos, he has told me several times how he went to his loco once (based at a railway depot in Birmingham) only to find a group of Irishmen running a tape measure over his 'little loco', they went on to tell him they were going to make a model of it, im fairly sure he will buy one and having followed its restoration closely, im sure i probably will as well.
