  1. I am incorporating a section of 009 gauge into my larger 00 gauge layout. Using the Bachmann Baldwin loco. At one point the 009 gauge crosses over the 00 gauge track. I am considering using a girder bridge there. What size bridge should I use? N gauge or 00 gauge? Thank you, David
  2. I plan to include a 009 section on my layout. What would be the maximum incline for a Bachmann Baldwin pulling 6 coal cars? Thanks
  3. This is the one I am considering. https://dundasmodels.co.uk/webstore/index.php/hikashop-menu-for-module-108/product/5269-0-6-0-steam-loco-black-body-includes-choice-of-4-different-chimneys It is somewhat separate from the 00 gauge portion of my layout. By H09 I assume it is an H0 size body on a narrow gauge chassis . I assume it runs on n scale track.
  4. I am considering the purchase of a ROCO HO9 locomotive and wagons for a narrow gauge layout near my 00 gauge layout. Anyone familiar with this locomotive? any suggestions? Thank you, David
  5. Thanks for the ideas. I do need more trees, both here and in other places. Other than making them myself, what is the best source for trees, and also less expensive. Thinking about a narrow gauge coal mine for the blank portion of layout.
  6. Here are a couple of pictures of my 00 gauge layout. I am looking for ideas for the open section. Since I already have a village, station area, and industrial area, I was thinking of narrow gauge mine, slate quarry or another village. The bottom dimension is 48 inches across, and the dimension from the bottom to the rail is 42 inches.
  7. To be more precise, the whisker hits the magnet and starts to drag on it.
  8. Although I am in Richmond,VA I am using all British locos and rolling stock. I purchased a package of the #18 Kadees that fit in the NEM pockets. I have installed them on a couple of cars and they all sit lower than the Kadee height location device. They droop. In fact they drag on the magnet that sits between the tracks. Any ideas how I can make them sit "higher" in the pockets?
  9. I feel I need to post some positives about Olivia's. I live in the US but am making a layout based on British locomotives, scenery etc. I did a fair amount of research and decided to buy my engines from them. They have shipped items to me and they came in perfect. Also i visited their shop when on holiday in the UK last May. They were very helpful, offering tea, and gave me a couple of nice coffee mugs. Most of their staff appeared to be techs preparing items. I also understand they fit the Hatton's locos with sound, and will match their prices on many items. When I came home everything ran perfectly. I also visited Rails and found them less attentive. Rails prices are cheaper on many items though. When I purchase items now most currently come from Hatton's as I find their shipping costs are less.
