  1. Excellent info. Pity there's no "Dummies guide to" for this kind of thing...I know James Hudson @ dcc trainautomation has a wealth of info, but he's quite busy and difficult to get on the phone. I've been scared to just "connect without knowing what was doing" for fear of wrecking DR5000, 4088LN 4088 and goodness knows what else! John
  2. Thank you thank you thank you for explaining the CS version !! For begineers, it's a great help.
  3. Sorry....yes i meant that they are on Amazon UK, and I got mine next day using Prime. Mind you, with the lack of documentation, its frustrating for a beginner like me. (And what the hell does "CS" "GND" and "OPTO stand for?????)
  4. Yup....and there was me....seeing the ad for a DR5000 with ALL those connections & protocols...and then when you get it...it only supports one. Bit like buying that £50 skyrocket firework....watching with eager anticipation as the touch paper burns and then...and then....the thing falls over and shoots into the garden hedge. That's the one gripe I have with Digikeijs.....the worst support documentation I've ever encountered for a product.
  5. BUT!! They are all cheaper from Ironplanet on Amazon !!!!!
  6. I have the S2sx which I plan to use (one half) to drive a Hornby surface mount motor. I also have a Peco LK55 t/table with Locomotech indexed motor kit. The t/table is moved onto the next "position" by shorting two terminals momentarily (<1 sec). Question is, can I use the other half of the decoder (via a low power relay) to perform the momentary connection? John
  7. The shop at Pecorama (Beer, Devon) is open on Sundays
