  1. Looks like the couple on the beach in J6638, might be about to have some Groyne activity! 😚
  2. It paid to ask, except at Saltley. I got a few cuffs around the ear for sneaking in if the wrong bloke was in charge. (I deserved it and I would not considering sueing)! ☺️
  3. I bought as couple of locos at Expo EM last weekend. A 2P 4-4-0. (Plastic body, detailed with Comet chassis and Comet tender. Mashima? motor). Non-runner, but a wire had come unsoldered from motor. Bachmann Standard 2-6-4T in green, converted. (So will be a body swap). So a bit of work to do, but nothing too difficult.
  4. But you're a Yorkie, so everything your several county's supplies, food-wise, is of similar elk! Apart from the Black Pud!🤪
  5. I was a GINGE, didn't stop me beating the sh!te out of any body that took the p!sh out of me at school! Now old and white! (Not grey). Great move by the organisers and Annie. 3rd Row for him as well. Thankyou and goodnight!
  6. It would not be looking so relaxed if it knew it's fate!
  7. Does it come with an Inter-City era Sandwich?
  8. I think we should organise a re-union, or meeting of people who used to spot at Water Orton. The Dog Inn might be an appropriate place to hold it. Just a thought. Andy.
  9. If I built track like that on a layout I would be Hung, Drawn and Quartered! 😊
  10. I see Rails are discounting some of the LMS/BR versions of the 812, 20%. Type MCINTOSH20 at checkout.
  11. That's expensive for that pile of sh!te. More like 4p.
  12. I have found that as many pick ups on wheels, as well as the weight makes for better running. Same with tender locos. My older brother worked at the Met Cam factory before emigrating to New Zealand, before that he was at Hams Hall as an electrician. Apprentice and qualified. He kept threatening me with a trip on the still operating steam locos after 1968, at the CEGB but it never materialised. Andy.
  13. Well remember Tyseley's open days. Got a BR maroon 'Gentlemen' sign for 2/- (10p) and a set of BR cap badges for 6d (2.5p), each. What bargains.
  14. I can remember an EE type 2, (Class 31), coming through Water Orton. Heading east with flames coming out of it's exhaust! We had to shift along over the footbridge. How the bridge with its wooden, bitumen soaked planked walkway never caught fire, I will never know.
  15. Nice to see the Bisto being used for the sm0ke unit!🤣
  16. Bring back the 1970's BR sandwich! (Hat, coat, door).
  17. Graham. Looking forward to this one. Always nice to see a new Scottish layout. Andy.
  18. Don't know whether it has been mentioned before, but it is worth looking at:- https://www.scalefour.org/links/traders.html
  19. At least there are places of note unlike:-
  20. You can imagine the inside of those houses were probably as cold as outside apart from the living room, (where the fire was). No insulation in the rooves.
