  1. Have you seen the Heljan Decoder fitting instructions that cover how to take the bodyshell off? They are available online: https://www.gaugemasterretail.com/media/downloads/11017241-cl17_oo_isheet.pdf
  2. What a great idea! Coffee and cake after some hard spending on essentials!
  3. I note that you have placed the IR emitter and receiver on long leads. If you temporarily remove the long leads and connect the IR parts directly to the module does this work?
  4. All of the Airfix 1/72 aircraft starter kits that I have seen and bought from Lidl/Aldi were all tooled in the second decade of the 21st century. And excellent kits they are. No huge panel gaps, no warped plastic and they literally fall together. Along with the excellent quality of the decal sheets I'd say they were excellent value for money. Suggest you Google when the Jet Provost T.3/4, Spitfire Mk1a, Hurricane Mk1, Messerschmitt Me109e and Focke Wulf Fw190A8 were released - you may get a surprise.
  5. That's not really a fair comparison though is it? If potential customers are actually giving feedback here that they can't see the button, then they are going to assume Accurascale don't offer split payments either. Just giving some UI experience to save Accurascale having to explain where the button is......
  6. But you then have to spend time on forums posting enlarged screenshots of the webpage where the button is to people who can't find it.......
  7. Is it me or is it worth considering making the tiny "split payments" button of equal prominence to the huge "Checkout" button?
  8. I don't think it's correct for you to quote me and imply that I said the company are dodgy. My post did not say that at all. I said it was strange that my account with them was credited with £1 for no reason. Still, don't let that stop you getting a plug in for your own products....
  9. It's not a scam email if their website shows a credit of £1.00. That credit is not to customers bank accounts - indeed it can't be as RR don't have my bank details. It's something different.
  10. I've had this too. I did then log into my account on the Rainbow Railways website and the £1.00 credit is showing up there. It's strange indeed....
  11. But the other Scottish headlight 37/0's ARE mentioned (026, 027, 051), hence my query about the lack of specific mention of 043.
  12. No mention in the blog about 37043? No samples and no expected delivery date?
  13. As an exhibition visitor I quite like the presence of a set of metal barriers to keep people back from the edge of the layout. I like to be able to take in the visual scene set by a layout as a whole, which is rather difficult once you get people leaning over the barrier with their ipad or large DSLR and would be even harder if people were hard up against the edge of the layout. I do cringe when visitors lean over even further to touch and poke at layouts. Do they not realise why the barriers are there? What possible benefit do they get from touching things? I have sympathy with all the layout owners that have suffered from prodding.
  14. Gearwheel only (part number S9571 as quoted earlier in the thread) available here: https://www.hornbytriangspareparts.co.uk/item/S9571-Hornby-18-TOOTH-DRIVE-GEAR-0-4-0-R077-WITH-X809-X2258-MOTOR-G5B I have no link or affiliation with the seller, I literally just googled the part number to show you that they are available. Worth taking a punt on for a few quid and a few minutes fettling?
  15. 143s were used on the inaugural Edinburgh to Bathgate services when they were re-instated in 1986. Definitely an odd case of using units allocated to Heaton rather than a Haymarket alloc DMU. They were definitely used on the Windermere branch too. So, they got about: Good chance for more people to admire the TW PTE livery!
  16. 6XX units denoted units with replacement gearboxes IIRC. I think the Tyne & Wear fleet was renumbered from 0XX to either 3XX meaning original gearbox and 6XX with replacements.
  17. Hmm, the reason I was asking is that I have seen several listings for 3 pole coreless motors, so they do seem fairly common. EG: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32998976009.html
  18. I wonder where it says in the features quoted above that the motor is or isn't coreless? Is Phil Parker assuming that the term "3-pole" by definition means that the motor is an iron-core type.
  19. If credits can be applied retrospectively, then does that mean that credits can be earned upon review on products bought previously? I have been invited to review one previous order out of 7 orders I've had delivered. I'd be willing to leave reviews for the other items if invited and the credits would come in useful against items due soon! I only got the invitation to review in the late summer this year and was expecting more to follow....yet nothing!
