  1. Well update time, So baseboards all down, Track glued and wired for DC cab control. Playing trains has begun or should that be testing trains has begun. Also made a start on track weathering in the station area, Hope to get the platforms started latter today. Before and after photo, Track weathered with cheap acrylic paint mix of burnt umber and black applied through the airbrush And another project that im working on is a DBSO for my Class 86 rake. Im designing and 3D printing it myself so its not going to be 100% accurate but im working with a budget. Here is the cab print for now Thats all for now, i'll try to update again tomorrow
  2. Hello, iv'e decided to capture and share the creation of my new model railway St James Road. The layout is 00 scale small main line terminus station set in the present ish day with a separate heritage line running into the same station. There is a planed workshop/ wagon repair yard in front of the fiddle yard (have yet to decide on what im doing there yet) the layout is L shaped and stored at home in my loft, The layout is portable and my hope is to one day exhibit it. The track work is all peco code 100 streamline with electrofrog points. all the sleepers have been re spaced to a more prototypical spacing. The layout will be wired for DC control with cab control for the main and branch lines allowing them to be run individually or together. Here are a couple of photos showing the current state of play. At the far right of the photo will be the station with 2 main line platforms and the far line being the heritage line. the line curves around to the left with the fiddle yard and TMD/ workshop located there. Hope to have another update by the end of the week and maybe some trains running Bradley.
  3. Hi Nick Thanks hopefully going to get some progress done this weekend. Did not realize the area group was that close to me. Think I'm going to have to save up and join the N gauge society. Bradley
  4. Hi all, My name's Bradley and after much hesitation I'm finally getting around to starting my layout thread. A little background: The layout is based in the South coast of England in present day. The layout is the terminus of a heritage line called the Winstanley light railway or WLR for short. I've always wanted to model a seaside scene and as such, I have begun working with a variety of N gauge stock on a preserved railway. I'm hoping to get this ideal layout up to exhibitionist standard. Progress so far: My track plan is now finalized, baseboard built, track laid and wired, and the layout has been fully tested. I will add some photos soon along with a track plan with my next update. Why Winstanley on sea? Simple I wanted to name the layout after my wonderful partner.
