  1. As a great news reader once said. B E A UUUUUUUTEEFUL! Lovely work. The eye just begs to follow the curvature.
  2. I hope it is just a trick of the eye but that crest doesn't like straight? She is certainly going to look good on 6 blood and custard mark 1s next weekend.
  3. Don't forget the lizzie lurking in the background. Fabulous site and very much looking forward to seeing 45551 in action.
  4. Tony, What chassis did you use underneath your upgrade? Ive been tinkering with my E2 and would like to replace the chassis as well.
  5. O . I think I'm going to have too many 0-6-0s. 2 Q1s, C class. Now a Black motor. My concern with the model would be the weight over the front drivers. I imagine the motor would be in the firebox which would put all the weight at the rear. Hopefully a nice big lump in the smokebox will appear.
  6. I have to say. Very, Very impressed with the support, set up, drive and passion for this build. The ladies and gents at Warley really worked their socks off. The list of important sponsors adorning the trailer was very impressive. This one along with 82045 are two new builds I am looking forward to the most.
  7. Not to be nit picky but the sound of the Duchess in your banking video is incorrect for 1950s. That sound is from 46233 in preservation with the air pump working.
  8. Correct me if I am wrong but were they no kept in the old mpd? And memory does serve me correctly. Those coaches are now running up and down the SVR.
  9. Sam, 75069 is quoted as being a 2 year job. The new boiler sections are on order along with the copper for the new halfsides. Despite her length of time out of service and in the open, she is considered to be in good condition. With the recent announcement of 4930 heading north in october. Along with '29 heading into the works. It going to be a busy time for us volunteers and even more so for the paid staff!
  10. I hope coachmann is not refering to the VT special from Tyseley? Which unfortunately has been cancelled due to operational issues.
  11. Have a look at photos of Auto train workings. You might find, if the train was just working say Bourne End to Marlow. The crew & guard would have been lazy enough to run with both a red tail light on the central lamp bracket of the loco and a white headlamp on the top lamp bracket with just a single carriage tail lamp on the Auto coach.
  12. Definetly continue! If space is there, why not keep heading towards Dunton Green? Maybe throw in a OO works H tank and some Roxey SECR push pull coaches?
  13. They definetly look like a LSW 3 set. Shame I dont have the room nor the time to go for something like this myself!
  14. How about somewhere between South Ruislip and Ashenden Junction? When the GC was under the LM.
  15. All thats missing from your photos is a SECR H tank and some SECR pull push (yes i did mean it that way around) sitting in the platform!
  16. Not wanting to start a livery debate. This photo shows how dark the EMU green was, where as Hornby are using the standard coaching stock green.
  17. I have just finished my Replica 2HAP, Bachmann 2EPB is at this moment doing a few circuits. And the 2BIL looks too good to miss out on. Not bad for a 1960 ish South Western layout.
  18. The lamp sitting on the running plate is the other lamp. Locos always had to have two lamps. Im pretty sure all GW locos had two lamp irons on the firemans side of the running plate for storing spare lamps. The lamp that looks like its sitting on the handrail, is sitting on the lamp bracket mounted on the smokebox. If you can find a photo of it. Lamps brackets had two other positions. On the smokebox door ring or on the door itself.
  19. It depends on what lamps the crew took out of the store before taking up their turn. The caption under 1466 is exactly what it says. Its the tail light but more than likely a bog standard loco headlamp with a red shade in. The preservation shot is a headcode for a partially fitted freight.
  20. It covers the clacks. Or GWR top feed to be precise. 1450 may have backhead clacks rather than conventional top feed.
  21. Looking at those photos. 6922 isnt a modified hall.
  22. The bottom picture looks to me almost model like.
  23. Im sure they found their way behind some Stanier 8fs as well.

    Hornby B1

Mine arrived on saturday morning. With a remark from the posty " Another loco for you then?". Beautiful loco, runs superbly well without any noise at all. Now for a rename and number to 61008 Kudo.
