Grrrr sods law strikes again.... I finished the final coat of varnish on my branchlines/ ian kirk conversion and Hattons have them in stock briefly.

I hope we see an attachment for the air reservoirs on these as they are a very prominent feature.

Gordon your not alone in a change of circumstance and a re-design of a layout to suit. Having had my knee nearly destroyed in a rugby accident, our previous layout would have been inoperable due to having a "duck under". I have just spent building a new layout with a slide out section to ease access.
It is good to see the ideas flowing. This is one of my favorite layouts to see the progress and sheer size of it all.

Tim, I have to ask. Are you feeling ok? A different 4-6-2 of a certain rival company on your workbench? Again fantastic work mate.

Not meaninfg detract on wht I'm sure will be a superb model. But if you cant afford the near enough £100 price tag. What about using the new chassis Bachmann are selling for their B1 under a replica body with suitabe mods? I for one, even as a Southern man, am looking forward to this as I need a cross country loco to go with the Black 5 and Grange.

I was amazed after reading this thread. I popped onto google maps and had a scan over Bath road and to my amazement the pits from the old shed appear in photographs and the turntable pit is evident.

Why can I see such similarities with Rons Manchester Central.
Both of these layouts make me speechless with the sheer attention to detail.

Page 106-107 of November Hornby Mag is a picture of 18100 approaching Iver in Early black with silver lining with large cycling lion. Behind the loco is at least 5 Hawksworths. Being shot in 1952 I'm thinking the coaches will be in Blood and Custard. But as I said earlier it is a black and white photo.

In the current Hornby Magazine. There is a photo of 18000 I think. Hauling a rake of Hawksworths. Its a black and white photo but the coaches are definetly inether Choc n Cream or Blood and Custard.
