    Finally some motivation after I actually had some free time, the Schimitar was finally painted. Good news from the takings of our model railway show, over £4k was raised over the day. Also, the railway was successful in obtaining a grant of £100k from the rural prosperity fund, this is for our new shed so our volunteers can finally work on our vehicles under cover. This will only cover some of the build, but it’s a great start. Construction to hopefully start in May.

    Today the Yorkshire Wolds Railway annual model railway show. To fill a small gap in the hall I took Builders Yard for its annual trip out of the house. Hopefully we have raised a great deal of money for the railway 🤞

    Daft question time…..Iv dug my Class 33 out of the box again but would like the snow ploughs on. Do the ploughs just sit on the holes provided on the bogies or should they be a push fit? Thanks in advance.

    I managed to source another Warwell courtesy of Ellis Clarke. Delivered promptly too, the Scorpion sits nicely on it. A small piece had come adrift on the under frame which can easily be glued back into place. Being ex mob the CVRTs would have had wing mirrors removed before travelling by rail. Although a long time ago now, I cannot recall mirrors ever being fitted on our Scorpions.

    I succumbed and whilst in Monk Bar Model Shop in York a Dapol TTA fell into my possession and then another straggler joined it whilst in 53A Models in Hull. 37421 pushes them into the yard.

    After cutting the parts from the 3d mould, the basic parts are shown here loosely assembled. In another life many moons ago I used to work on its sister, the Scorpion. This will sit nicely on the Warwell.

    Hi, Welcome to the scale that grips you and you cant generally say no to buying anything you like. Like Al and others I use Shawplan generally, Brian made my last set specially for 58021. I have used ProtoNeo too all excellent. They will be my next choice for Tracy plates for my Class 73.

    Not long been back from dealing with Mums funeral. Trying to get some of that get up and go back. A start, today these arrived, a Scimitar CVR(T) I saw this in Rail Express so promptly ordered and some chocs for the Warwell from Trains 4 U. Not touched the trains either since Iv been back, so I think this weekend a running session is long overdue.

    Heljan PCA being the other wagon type. The coupling hook is a tad bulky and will require filing or replacing.

    After a long time away caring for my Mum Im back home trying to regain some get up and go. Sadly Mum passed away Christmas Day after a long battle with cancer and at 92 was an inspiration to me on the courage and bravery she showed. Whilst away Roger from Tower kindly sent me a few Dapol wagons. Heres one of them an HIA.

    As Digitrains dont do a 73 sound file I went to Howes for the chip and file. I then saw your post on DCC kits I think it was.

    Mine failed as it mostly does from the start. I would like another 73, like you will wait to see if they reduce the prices for shelf space.

    Studying the photo rails have on their site, the point of the yellow now looks to point at the number. It appears Heljan have corrected it, if thats what you meant?

    Interesting what Ben said about hook. Mines away being sound installed. I must say I could have sworn I did not see a hook when I pushed the drop eye down to look. I will check again when it returns. On a positive not it is a beautiful model well done Heljan.

    Thanks Nick, Iv not tried, but I would expect they do. Tower do and I tried Howes and they did. Looking forward to getting in installed.

    Hi Nick, I told myself that but nowadays they get around more than they ever did. So as you can see my resistance was futile. It is a lovely model well done Heljan!!
