  1. Hi 9FEd, Blimey, that's a lovely blank canvas you have there to work with. The new ideas part of your brain must be in overdrive. Hope your enjoying your new home and looking forward to the ideas and future progress. Cheers, Chris (weave)
  2. Hi Geep7, I too am planning an HO Spanish seaside terminus (although set in the South West and smaller than yours as in trackwork, sidings etc.) but this is all very interesting. Looking forward to your progress. I've still got stuff in boxes so threads like this are a great inspiration to pull my finger out and get started on the bare board. Cheers, weave
  3. Hi Jamie, No offence to the US railroad but it's a shame the SNCF pics are coming to an end. Obviously it wasn't going to last forever but thank you for all of them, very enjoyable especially the '80s/'90s ones which brought back great memories. I am aware of your up to date SNCF ones on the Limoges thread which are always enjoyable too. Again, thanks for sharing. Cheers, Chris (weave). PS Do you have a layout? I think you mentioned that you did but I might be, which is usually the case, wrong.
  4. Hi Jamie, Please excuse my ignorance but you said that the BB 9200 was heading South as it had both pantographs raised and was just wondering why that is? Is it that more power is required on that line? Thanks for any help. Cheers Chris (weave). PS Great pics as usual.
  5. Hi Jamie, Newish to the Forum so have spent the morning looking through the whole thread of your lovely pics. Very enjoyable and brought back great memories of travelling around France by train with my late father. Thank you. Just need to check out your Limoges pics next. Cheers, Chris (weave).
  6. Hi Tim, New to the Forum so am slowly reading through the Continental threads. I model France and Spain in N and am embarking on Italian and Spanish in HO but I like most things Continental so I just wanted to say that I think your layout is fantastic with lovely scenery/ rolling stock and very inspirational as a build. A very enjoyable Sunday read. Great stuff. Cheers Chris (weave)
  7. Hi all, I'm new to the Forum so am slowly reading through some of the threads. I model French and Spanish N but am venturing into Italian HO so just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the links. All very useful. I'm taking it slowly due to limited funds and experience but hope to have a layout up and running to an extent by the Summer so will be asking (possibly silly) questions soon. Cheers, Chris (weave)
  8. Hi gridwatcher, Am new to this Forum so am playing catch up on a few threads. I model Spanish, French and soon Italian trains but have spent a very enjoyable morning reading through the whole of your lovely Portuguese layout thread. Lots of interest for me, especially the coaches and buildings. I've never been to Portugal and forgetting Covid, I don't think I should anyway as I'd go and see some trains, get hooked and end up starting a Portuguese layout as well. Maybe if I win the Lottery. Really great stuff. Thanks for sharing. Cheers, Chris (weave)
  9. Hi again, Thanks for the welcome. Love the flowers on the gallery tunnel. Not sure if they're supposed to be Bougainvillea but if not they look similar. I only mention that as the wife has made me promise to model some Bougainvillea in the future as she loves it although at the moment it could be a while. Saying that, I do hope to purchase an Italian Hotel when I get paid so might be asking for tips on how you did it in the next few weeks if that's OK? Cheers, Chris. PS, On that trip, 'twas Calais - Milan, 6hours in Milan, then Milan - Rome, couple of days there, then Rome - Sicily. I love trains but not that much Also, meant to say, well done for sorting your electrical problems.
  10. HI 9FEd, Am new to this Forum and have spent a very pleasant morning reading your whole thread. I started with a few 'thank yous' but didn't want to bombard you with them so here's one big thank you for a lovely looking and very inspirational layout. I model SNCF and RENFE in N gauge but having travelled in the late '80s by train from Calais to Sicily and then back up to the Ligurian Coast, staying in Bordighera for a while, I've always wanted to model an Italian layout. I know Arnold are going to produce the E656 and I thought about it but my eyesight is starting to go a bit and I'm finding N a bit too fiddly anyway so am going down the HO route having just bought a Rivarossi E646. I'm hoping to build a fictional principality sticking out into the sea between Italy and France with a small cross border terminus on a Ventimiglia avoiding line so your scenics are, as I said, very inspirational. Hope you don't have to wait too long for the new FS locos to appear. Thanks again and looking forward to more. Cheers, Chris.
  11. Hi Stephane, I'm new on this Forum but can I just say what a lovely layout you have. I do model RENFE in N gauge but due to eyesight and other problems I'm thinking of going HO for the future and your layout has been great inspiration. I see you haven't posted for a long time so hope you are well and everything is OK. Thanks Chris (weave)
  12. Hi all, This is probably the wrong place to put my first post but as I model Spanish N gauge just thought I'd say hola. Have looked through some of the posts and some lovely pics. Will be reading more. First question as new to this Forum, do you post Spanish layout pics here or somewhere else? Apologies if obvious but am new and normally under the influence of Rioja. Hope to work my round everything and get chatting soon. Salud weave.
