  1. Hi looks good so far. Have you thought of modifying an articulated bogie coach into a buffet coach for one of the 7 car sets?
  2. Did a bit of messing around on MS paint...
  3. 89s did indeed find themselves on the WCML during their early year(s) for testing, mainly between Crewe and Carlisle. You can find more information and some pictures on Train testing here.
  4. That 222 "Meridien" sounds like an interesting project! What will you plan to do when it comes to the decals? Cheers
  5. Greetings fellow humans for which I am one of! Following my decision to move over to Bury Bolton Street, I felt it would be a good idea to create a thread dedicated towards my workbench, for which has gained the appropriate name of "Bury Baron Street." This will cover detailing, scratchbuilding/kitbuilding for everything on the layout. Currently, the fleet of my ELR is: Visitors *Hornby Railroad 4472 Flying Scotsman Residents *Lima GWR Prairie 4589 *Tri-ang 3f (under overhaul) The "Prairie" will require: *Bachmann chassis *Renumbering The 3f is being coverted into a L&Y class 27, which'll need: *New Smokebox door *Modified/replacement tender *Rounded firebox *New Cab? *Repaint I also have a mk1 rake, which is made up of a: *Tri-ang Intercity Buffet *Tri-ang Intercity Composite coach *Hornby Railroad Maroon Brake The Tri-ang coaches will require Bachmann commonwealth bogies, which I shall source soon. More coming soon!
  6. More photos coming soon! Also, how do I change the page's name? or do I have to set up a new one? Cheers for viewing
  7. Here's some Photos! I don't know how to format them that well, so I apologise
  8. Is there any way I could sneak one of these into a Bury Bolton Street layout? This honestly looks great and I would buy one if the ELR bought one for some strange reason and placed it into platform 1 at Bury!
  9. Project Update and an Apology I would like to apologise to those who were expecting a Darlington layout. Over the past few months, I've become increasingly interested in the ELR and Bury Bolton Street. The idea for this has appeared in my head a few times, and this idea stalled. So, I decided to ditch this plan and do a Bury Bolton Street layout. Yet again, my indecisiveness kicked in. So, I would like to apologise to those who were disappointed. I may turn this into the BBS (Bury Bolton Street) layout page or create a completely new one. Onward with the new plan, I have made a decent start already. I have most of the track work in place for the station, with the other side (either a fiddle yard or another scene (s)) having absolutely no track! I also have a Mk1 composite and a Mk1 buffet (both Tri-ang and blue/grey.) I also have a maroon railroad mk1 brake (which I love by the way!) Also, I have a tiny demonstration freight rake. And to top it all off, my first resident locomotive- Lima GWR Prarie 4589 (and the Flying Scotsman, but that'll be a visitor.) The only issue is that the Mk1 buffet has a chunk of one wheel missing, so I have an excuse to replace the bogies with Bachmann commonwealth bogies! The current plan is: Replace 4589's chassis with a Bachmann one Replace the Tri-ang wheels with Bachmann Commonwealth Bogies Buy track (lots of track) Buy another resident locomotive (diesel or steam will suffice) Continue to modify my Tri-ang 3f into a L&Y class 27) Work out the rest from there I can upload some photos of the work so far if it wasn't pitch black. More coming soon! (hopefully)
  10. Good work so far! 'tis a shame that the prototypes are being withdrawn as I've developed quite a liking for them!
  11. If you had the money to buy lots of them, the i'd recommend this: https://www.dcpexpress.com/al24-dual-function-amber-door-coach-light-effects-p-494.html
  12. My only request for this project is that you add a little Jeremy Corbyn sitting on the floor in one of the VTEC coaches!
  13. Do you think you could upload some photos? interested to see how your project goes!
  14. Take a look at this, you may find it useful:
  15. How's the project going? I can't wait to see the first printed mk5a driving car
  16. Sorry to hijack the thread, but what makes you think that?
  17. So, will Bachmann ever model the 3 car GWR sets or is that just too much hassle?
  18. That's a good idea! I do not believe there are any copyright laws, but I should hope that this idea works!
  19. Looking great so far! Really does go to show that you can make Triang models look great without using a huge amount of stuff!
  20. Just a general idea of how things are coming- the space on the right hand side is probably going to go towards a small heritage railway, or two more platforms, however I do not know yet. More to come!
  21. platform 1 and 4 were 25cm away, due to platforms 2 and 3 being in the middle, plus the 12cm overall of platform. Platform 1 (the closest to the hole) would need a steep curve in order to not foul the other track, with it possibly being 1st radius. I didnt want to lose more platform space, and I couldn't get the 2 tracks closer together. Due to a lack of space it would be impossible to widen the layout in order to add some straight track to the outside curve. Meanwhile, whilst playing with ideas I found that having the 2 bay platforms on the left to the through line would be easier. Photos of the design coming soon.
  22. the initial plan was a 100% accurate representation of the station, however I encountered problems with the distance between the 2 through platforms. Its not as much based on Darlington anymore, however there is a bit of resemblance.
