  2. Finally produced a list (albeit something will be missing) of Locomotive classes that were noted/photographed on the line in the 50's, 60's, 70's and early 80's. The list is in excess of 470 individual Locomotives and includes so far everything that was known to have been sighted between Denham and Ashendon Junction. Numbers noted by my late Step Father during his many hours enjoying the hospitality of the Signalman at Haddenham in the 60's. Numbers from the 50's found by 'Sid' (Leading Railman) in the Office at Beaconsfield Station which I was able to copy down and of course the many photographs in books relating to the subject. The classes are as follows:- King, Castle, County, Star, Hall, Modified Hall, Grange, Manor, 28xx, 47xx, Dukedog (9017), City of Truro, 51xx, 61xx, 45xx, 55xx, 22xx, 63xx, 54xx, 74xx, 94xx, 57xx, 14xx, 30xx (ROD), 72xx. A1, A3, B1, B12, B16/1, V2, K3, J39, O1, L1, A5, N5, L3, C13, J11, GC Robinson Director. Royal Scot, Jubilee, Patriot, Crab, Stanier 8F, Stanier Black 5, Stanier 4P Tank, Fowler 4P Tank, Fairbairn 4P Tank, Fowler 4F, Ivatt 4MT. Schools (Cheltenham), West Country, Battle of Britain. BR Standards - 9F, Britannia, 4MT, 5MT, 4MT Tank, 2MT Tank, WD Austerity. Westerns, Warships, Hymecks, Class 47, 40, 37, 24, 22, GT3, Western 8 car Pullman (Blue Streak), Derby suburban 4 car DMU. Post TOPS early 80's - Class 50, 47, 46, 45, 40, 37, 33, 31, 25, 20, 08, 115 DMU, HST (diversions). As you can see just about anything can be run!
  3. Updated Track Diagram - rustled up very quickly using MS Paint. Peter.
  4. Finally found the time (actually pre booked with the other half) to position a few buildings and odd SMP ScaleWay track that was lying around. The purpose together with copious amounts a polystyrene (courteous of Hotpoint) was to gain a basic perspective of how things might look. This is very crude but effective in establishing if scale length trains would just appear as 'tail chasers' or portray the correct look for a compressed main line station. Also I would be able to establish max length against reality and stop dreaming of 12 coach Expresses! Apologies for the poor temporary track laying but the SR boys must have been in! The track plan has changed due to the configuration of buildings and protocol. I had the footbridge access next to both Gents toilets together with the cattle pens and that would never normally have happened. I will post a re draw when time allows but the photos should give an idea. Stage 1. Proposed overall look with Buildings near enough in position. Now with a 22 wagon goods and Tank. Now a 7 Coach Express with 4-6-0 A 4 Coach Local with Tank. Finally wagons placed in sidings to max. This has enabled me to define max lengths as follows:- Express 8/9 Coaches. Local 4/5/6 Coaches Goods up to 25 4 wheelers. Goods up to 14 Bogies. Peter.
  5. Have decided to use Beaconsfield 'down side' Buildings and not the Shelter at Saunderton. Here are some pics of progress to date.... Have omitted the Ladies Waiting Room toilet window deliberately under 'Compression'
  6. Finished model of Beaconsfield Cycle Store - Reduced slightly in length under 'Compression'.
  7. Apart from the ridge tiles which I neglected to add!!!
  8. Finished model of Gerrards Cross Weighbridge Office.
  9. Hope not to disappoint Mark! Will not be regular posting due to other commitments but there is going to be a few today. If you ever used the Car Park at Gerrards Cross (before rebuild) then you would probably have walked past the old Weighbridge Office which I have just completed modelling. Peter.
  10. Photo's of Beaconsfield 'down' buildings that I may decide to use.
  11. Photo of 'running in' board and 'up' waiting room building at Saunderton in June 82. Not sure if I will use this building or Beaconsfield 'down' buildings yet.
  12. Photo of Gerrards Cross Weighbridge office taken in May 83. Will build similar for Carlsden.
  13. Some research photo's from May 1983 that have been used to construct Beaconsfield 'up' Station Building.
  14. Thanks Eddie, I am sure there will be a place for the odd 'spam can' or two even if only being towed North for scrap! Not sure on DCC system yet but maybe the same as the Club. Been 'off grid' again with work and Grandchild supervision on Wednesday evenings hence my continued absence. Hope to catch up soon. Peter.
  15. Thanks Dave, I was 1972-75 Wooburn Green and 76-84 Holtspur (Beaconsfield) working at the following stations in my time:- Beaconsfield, Denham, Denham Golf Club, Seer Green & Jordans, Gerrards Cross, Princes Risborough and Bicester North. A photo from May 83 ..in Beaconsfield Booking office! Catch up soon. Cheers Peter.
