  1. What sound decoder would people suggest for a 4mm GWR Aberdare class loco? I can't find a dedicated decoder but I'm assuming there's something out there that would be close? Are there decoders for the 3300 or 4120 classes which I gather are similar? Thanks!😀
  2. Welshpool and Llanfair Railway Journal from January 2008 to present. Including two binders. FREE and post at cost from Ireland.
  3. I'd like to buy a completed 009 layout. Wired for DC and with scenery completed. No need for stock or controller. Preferably longish and thin rather than wide and square! Will need to be delivered to the Republic of Ireland. Happy to pay for a good layout and for transport, of course.
  4. Assorted batch (4) of OO gauge freight vehicles: 2 Lima, 1 Wrenn (yellow hopper), and 1 Peco (1 plank open). In original boxes. Free to good home! Mailed at cost from Ireland. Note: stretch of rail in the photos is not included! All 4 to be taken, please; I don't wish to split the group.
  5. Anyone interested in LGB and similar scales and wanting road vehicles could check out https://www.donedeal.ie/hobbies-for-sale/model-vehicles-welly-124-vw-beetle-vw-campervan/31532393
  6. I'm looking to buy an 009 layout approx 4' by 12-18". Must be fully scenicked (inc buildings) and track laid. DC control. Will consider buying stock too if wanted (not L&B though). Must be transportable to Cork area of Ireland. Photos welcome.
  7. some wee 00 gauge folk with flags will be strategically placed ...
  8. The attached draft plan is for a museum site with working goods yard, and roundhouse with heritage steam locos (all GB practice). I assume full signals will be needed to protect the goods yard entrance and the station loop (at the right hand side), and the other end of the loop at the left hand side leading from the turntable. Would ground signals be all that's needed for the carriage sidings and goods yard sidings? Any suggestions as to location, and type (e.g. could you have a gantry signal to protect both the platform loop and the goods yard entrance on one signal post?) I'm also assuming that no distance signals are needed as they'd be off-layout. The signals will be powered and run off a DCC system so suggestions at to recommended upper quadrant models for 00 gauge would be appreciated. Plan_00_2021_v2.pdf
  9. Yup - that's true. I don't think that's needed in a preliminary query for someone who can use the software. I stated that I have most of the details - thus these will be provided to anyone interested in taking this on (one person has already expressed an interest and details have been forwarded to them). It's 00 gauge BTW, main board approx 8' x 3'3", complexity I'm unable to assess.
  10. Finding myself unable to get to grips with any of the layout software packages, I was wondering whether someone who can use these could help with a design? I have most of the details but need help in drawing the components. Financial recompense to be negotiated. A fairly swift turn round needed as I need to pass this on to layout builders. If interested please contact me at llabnitram@yahoo.com
  11. Sorry to appear dense, but how can one wire go to two different rails? Would you connect the one wire to one of the non-common rails then add a separate wire to link the other rail?
  12. Apologies for a basic question, but I can't find an answer online! If using DC and dual gauge track (e.g. Tillig HO/HOe) how does one wire the tracks? In single gauge of course it's one wire to each rail, but with mixed gauge where one rail is common and other two are not shared, where do the wires go? Thanks!
