  2. 7mm ballasting is so much easier than 4mm!!

      Not when you use 7mm ballast on 4mm layouts as some people like to do...

      I use 2mm on 4mm layouts. Well, I do if I ever start building one! ;-)

      2mm scale ballast is just the right size for 4mm, and even works at 7mm.

       

      It must seem like mountains for 2mm folk!

  8. 3 big trees blown down in our road. Unfortunately a neighbour was hit by one, some broken bones. Waited 45 minutes for ambulance. Hope he is ok.

  13. Went to film broadcast of Hamlet last night. Great production, but spoiled by numbers of Cumberbxxxxxs in the audience who squealed every time he came on. Have they never seen a play before?

      Ballasting takes a long time, I've spent an hour or more on a yard of track, plain track at that - it's not a job to rush.

  23. is exhausted but has successfully turned 2 8x6 sheds into 1 16x6 shed for the layout. Time to leave the loft.
