  1. Morning Gents. I'm building a break and open Barnham, resin kits supplied by Alan. Does anyone have the numbers for 1938 LNER please? Many thanks in advance King regards Nick
  2. Hi All, I'm building a Kirk 1st /3rd composite, but have mislaid the diagram in the instructions. I'm looking for info on the position of the battery boxes and dynamo. Could anyone help please? Many thanks in advance, Kind regards Nick.
  3. Hi All, Can anyone recall a set of photos and an explanation of using microscope slides for coach glazing please? It was earlier in Wright Writes (I think) but I can't seem to find it now. Many thanks in advance, Regards Nick.
  4. Thanks but I have compared to the Hornby colours and they are very different. I'm only trying to change two numbers. Regards Nick.
  5. Hi all. Can anyone recommend a supply of replacement LNER cabside numbers for the 4mm Hornby B17 Apple Green loco please? The Fox transfers are too yellow rather than metallic gold to match the existing numbers The Modelmaster ones might be ok but I can't find anyone with them in stock. Happy to purchase some secondhand if anyone has some spare. Many thanks in advance, Kind regards, Nick.
  6. Yeah, sorry they are miles different.
  7. Hello all. Can anyone suggest a match for the Hornby B17 numbering, Apple Green livery, tender driven, please? I have tried Fox transfers, but they are much too yellow, whereas I'm trying to match a more golden number. Many thanks Nick
  8. Hi Tony, Many thanks for the great photos. I hope the wagon performs ok. The buildings are based on Quorn and Woodhouse Station in 1938. Still detailing and weathering to do. Canopy valances and windows were lazer cut from my Cad drawings. The J72 is indeed a Mainline body, on Comet frames with a 1:120 High Level gearbox. Not finished, detailing and weathering still to do. The N5 is from a Judith Edge etch, with castings from a variety of sources, and finally the V1/3 is from a Wolsey Works etch. Again a variety of castings from a variety of sources. Any questions please feel free to PM me. Regards Nick
  9. Thank you great central. I think you are correct regarding the temporary tender. I found some information about them on the Connoisseur Models website. The loco is a Connoisseur Models kit and the first one I ever built successfully. Kind regards Nick.
  10. Thanks Mick I don't really worry too much about such things. I made the truck as a bit of an experiment in scratch building. My layout is a mix of Wells Next the Sea trackplan and GCR architecture, so I am not constrained to a particular line/location. The loco runs much better since I changed to electrofrog points and the pickups work fine. Tony Wright fitted them! Regards Nick.
  11. Hi Mick, Thank you for your question. The tender is to provide extra pickups as the wheel base is quite short. I was interested that you said they were only used on Y9. How can you be sure? Kind regards Nick
  12. Thanks all. I got some castings from 24/7 which look good. I'm still looking for buffers though. Parallel Turplat types, with four bolts, but struggling to find any. Kind regards, Nick
  13. Thank you for your kind words. The twin is made from two Comet kits with MJT underframe parts and a scratch built break end. The other kits are Parkside and D and S.
  14. Hi. Has anyone built a v1 recently from the Worsley etches please? If so, where did you get the castings from please? I'm doing 1938 in 4mm scale. Thanks Nick
  15. Hi all. Could you recommend a supplier of bogies and roof ventilatiors for the worsley works great central and great eastern etched brass coaches please? Apart from seats and wheels, will I need anything else to complete the kits? Many thanks Nick
  16. Hi All I am looking to use Spratt and Winkle couplings in 4mm. I would like to mount the magnets under the baseboards, but am struggling to find magnets strong enough. I am using 9mm ply baseboards with 2mm cork and Peco code 100 track. Are there any recommendations for magnets strong enough to mount underneath the baseboards or alternatively small enough to fit between the sleepers? Many thanks in advance. Kind regards Nick
  17. Hi all, Does anyone have recommendations for photos of the above prototype please? Running numbers would be great too if possible. Many thanks Nick.
