  1. If their online sales operation is at arm's length, then it does not meet what Hornby expect of a Tier 1 shop in having efficient order handling, so maybe should not receive preferential supply quotas. I have been buying new release Arnold items through the online shop for several years and I know that every year, when the items are delivered, I will have to contact Hornby for a refund of the excess postage. The way it works is that I place all the orders together for items which from experience I know always arrive in the same delivery batch, which would qualify for free postage. Hornby separates them into individual orders with individual postage charges. The goods all arrive with me together packed in a single parcel, and I reclaim the postage charges for half a dozen items, each invoiced individually and refunded individually. I have given up trying to suggest that this a waste of their time and effort, and my time, effort and expense. Are there other Tier 1 stores struggling to recognise the nonsense of charging six lots of postage for one "free" delivery?
  2. Kevin, the owner of panzer-shop, has said on another site that when requesting 1/148 scale for the cars, the buyer should also request "right hand drive" if that is what is needed. Not all the models can be flipped laterally to make them RHD.
  3. Panzer Shop continue to expand their range of cars and vans in 1/160 and 1/120, available on request in 1/148 scale. New are Volvo 245, Saab 9-3 coupe and hatchback, Renault R4 and Nissan Primera. https://www.panzer-shop.net/c-6449461/cars-busses-vans/?sort_order=descending&sort_method=by_date Cars, Busses & Vans | Panzer-Shop.nl
  4. Hi Carlos None of the SNCF B5uxh drawings I have include detailed dimensions. Regarding publishing on Cults3D, I prefer to retain some small level of control over the source of the STL files, and I have made arrangements for their future availability when I die. Publishing them on Cults would be a huge job. There is nothing to prevent anyone from modifying my files and placing them on Cults etc. in their own name. I have other priorities now due to changes in my personal and family circumstances.
  5. Hello Carlos Thank you for your kind words. Sorry to say that I do not have the file for the B5uxh cab. You need to purchase a print via Shapeways from Theo. https://www.shapeways.com/product/XJKJLHYN8/bloc-cabine-b5uxh?optionId=114867252&li=marketplace On the bright side, you do have access to my free files for the rest of the body, the chassis and the interior. There is a transfer sheet for the TER Bourgogne B5uxh available from my friend Hugues Fruchet at HFR160. https://hfr160.fr/?s=bourgogne&submit=Recherche
  6. Prue Leith, another BRB non-Exec, was a strong force behind the relaunch of Travellers Fare station and on-board catering.
  7. I think I understood your original point. But I would not be quick to dismiss the role of non-Executive Directors in the direction of the company. I had at least two concrete examples where the non-Execs opened doors with government and EU organisations, which proved to be very fruitful in advancing the company's performance over the short and longer term. I am sure that my experience is not unique. More than anything, I think that it demonstrates the advantage of well-chosen non-Execs rather than the "gravy-train" non-Execs who, in my experience, are rare beasts.
  8. You can be a Company Director without owning shares. I have been a registered Director of upwards of 40 companies in the UK and across the rest of Europe and have only owned a share in just one of those. I was a real director involved in running the day-to-day business. The non-executive directors often bring expertise from other disciplines and provide scrutiny on behalf of the shareholders.
  9. A gem from predictive text I suspect.
  10. This might work. Probably involves encouragement to purchase the Pro version. https://download.cnet.com/SketchUp-Make-2017/3000-6677_4-10257337.html
  11. I just checked my Northern version. There is a two pronged latch which holds the pantograph down securely. The prongs point towards the centre of the coach . The bar below the pantograph head engages with the prongs. To release, I used a screwdriver with about a 2mm head to disengage the bar from the forks by moving it gently towards the centre of the coach. It then disengages easily. The pantograph is poseable rather than sprung. I am surprised that it is not covered in the instructions, but I can't find a mention of it. Ruthless tugging of the pantograph will probably distort or even break it.
  12. I think that Toymaster fulfills that function already. The ones I know do not all stock the same brands or lines but presumably benefit from a centralised buying and then distribution function. A look at the website reveals a lot of "family" shop names. https://www.toymaster.co.uk/
  13. I believe that the Corgi direct sale operation was contracted out for a very long time using the same contractors as Oxford Diecast in Southampton. Oxford now carry out their own mail-order operation, which seems to be efficient (speed of dispatch, packaging, updates on shipments) and has the scope to embrace Corgi Diecast mail order.
  14. There are several videos of the 08s dotted around on the various N gauge Facebook Groups.
  15. I do not feel that there is a problem airing issues here but I would always recommend contact with the manufacturer/retailer. I had 4 sets from the first batch and after 13 hours of trying to get them working satisfactorily, by agreement with Revolution they were all returned for refund. The return postage was also refunded. The issues I had were couplers jammed solid, Couplers with restricted lateral movement causing derailments on the transition from straight to 430mm curves. One set only had drive to one bogie. Recently I purchased a set from a retailer, and using the lessons cited here and on other sites, it took only 1 hour and 20 minutes to get the set working smoothly even through the reverse curve of a large radius crossover. By contrast, I had a Farish Class 319 and a Class 769 which were coupled up and running smoothly with no mishap within 20 minutes of the courier delivering the parcel. I do not think that it is helpful to discourage the sharing of problems. There are probably many Class 320/321 sets which have not even been tested yet….waiting for the layout to be built. So a catalogue of issues and resolutions on RMWeb could be useful for future readers when they commission their sets - long out of warranty cover.
  16. As with most modern traction the blackening of the wheelsets needs to be worn off the wheel treads and flanges. Running in will achieve that as will removing the blackening with a solvent of some sort. Some people use a mild abrasive, though I would tend to avoid anything which risks damaging the surface finish on the treads.
  17. Photo of the pre-production Alexander M Type coach has appeared on the oxford Diecast Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/oxforddiecast/photos/a.1865556713549264/4849252278513011/
  18. This page lists the issue dates for each number series up to 1973. https://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/registrations/reg-letters.htm
  19. The big plus point of the new couplers for the Farish Voyager is that the cars can be coupled on the track rather than having to assemble the whole unit on its side or roof before rolling the snake on to the rails. The originally supplied bar coupler was always fiddly to fit.
  20. Panzer shop has added another 5 cars to their N range today:- Peugeot 504 (1968-1983) Peugeot 205 Phase 1 3 door (1983-1987) Opel Kadett E (1984-1991) Opel Zafira A (1999-2005) Citroen Berlingo van phase 1 (1996-2010) Listed in alphabetical order:- https://www.panzer-shop.net/c-6449461/cars-busses-vans/
  21. No. Project list with status here:- https://www.revolutiontrains.com/projects/
  22. Worth checking that the none of the coupling rods etc. have been squeezed out of shape. This can happen if the loco is picked up by the wheels rather than the body.
  23. Received today from Panzer Shop NL were a Ford Focus, Renault Scenic and Peugeot 308 in 1/148 scale, but left hand drive. Virtually no build lines and the compound curves on bonnet, roof and sides are very smooth. Resin is clear with a slight green tinge. Dusting of primer applied.
  24. Aren’t the ramps used to cross tracks, rather than for converting from road to rail mode? I thought they needed a road level with the rails to convert from one mode to the other - a level crossing would be ideal or in a yard with rail set into hard standing. The older types had a turntable underneath so they could drive up two ramps onto gauge width sleepers placed between the rails. The turntable was then lowered onto the rails between the ramps/sleepers lifting the vehicle which turned through 90 degrees to align with the rail track. Ramps removed, sleepers stowed, turntable raised and away we go. I am sure I have seen a video of the process. Here is a video of one running on the line.
  25. The bumper new range added to the Panzer-shop NL range today is 19 different Trabant 601s featuring in the car, East German military and emergency sections of the website. https://www.panzer-shop.net/c-6449461/cars-busses-vans/?sort_order=descending&sort_method=by_date https://www.panzer-shop.net/c-4967270/east-germany-gdr-nva/?sort_order=descending&sort_method=by_date https://www.panzer-shop.net/c-6452788/emergency-services/?sort_order=descending&sort_method=by_date Trabant 601 Kubelwagen Trabant 601 Kubelwagen, Canvas Trabant 601 Kubelwagen, Canvas, Open Doors Trabant 601 Limousine Trabant 601 Limousine, 1.1L Trabant 601 Limousine, Cabrio Trabant 601 Limousine, NVA Trabant 601 Limousine, Breakdown Trabant 601 Limousine, Polizei Trabant 601 Limousine, Volkspolizei Trabant 601 Pick-Up Trabant 601 Pick-Up, Canvas Trabant 601 Universal Trabant 601 Universal, 1.1L Trabant 601 Universal, 1.1L Ambulance Trabant 601 Universal, Deutsche Post Trabant 601 Universal, Feuerwehr Trabant 601 Universal, Feuerwehr Kleinloschfahrzeug Trabant 601 Universal, Breakdown A total of 30 new releases over a week seems like an impressive achievement. I placed a 1/148 scale order early this week which has been shipped today. I'll be interested in the final print quality.
