  1. I have one of the original Class 40 releases but have lost some of the mouldings which cover the screws that secure the chassis to the body. They are in the shape of underbody lifting lugs. Alas I cant locate the accompanying parts list, so unable to order replacements ( if available ) Anyone able to help with the respective parts number Regards Bob
  2. Sad news regarding Dave Alexander. Dave passed peacefully away yesterday 20th April after a long battle against prostate cancer. Ive been privileged to know and class Dave as friend going back to the 70s and his South Shields Model Shop Days He was an extremely talented but modest person who probably never knew just how much joy he had provided to UK railway modellers. From his Tyne Dock 9f conversion kit for a Hornby 9f through his many kits covering ex NER locomotive types and then his Tyne & Wear Metro cars. I recall the day he told me his next kit was to be a Tyne & Wear metro car and me thinking had Dave gone mad but what did I know. He sold every one he produced and was asked for more. When I moved to 7mm Dave kindly produced some one off castings for me. Dave was also regular attendee on the show circuit with his own stand or helping out other traders. Dropping off his Christmas card last December he informed me that his treatment had reached the end of the road and we spent the next couple of hours reminiscing about old times . Dave was truly a one off and I will miss him greatly as he will be by everyone who knew him. Bob L
  3. No I have not spoken to Gaugemaster Looking at the Parts and price list I am assuming that these lists of parts have been prepared and supplied by Heljan. Therfore its Heljan that is stating the items are unavailable not Gaugemaster. Im happy to be convinced otherwise
  4. Just checked to see if any of the long out of stock Deltic detail spares are now available at Gaugemaster and they are not Interesting that they do provide a link to a full Heljan spares diagram and price list which includes all of the items I require but all are unavailable Body side Brake caliper/brackets plus chains Bogie Guard irons Windscreen wipers The Deltic was a recent re-release so Heljan would have had the above parts produced again so why no spares Obviously Gaugemaster can only supply parts which Heljan make available All these bits which if you actually use the model will eventually fall off and mysteriously disappear into thin air..... at least mine did
  5. Well let us hope that we will see a full range of detailing spares especially for those models which have recently been re-released, epecially the O gauge Deltic. Spares for that specific model have not been available for years Bob
  6. I have an original O gauge Heljan Deltic which was subjected to a conserable amount of upgrade work including Pete Harvey etches, Bogie sideframes remodelled to represent the correct Class 55 profile. Fuel tanks narrowed plus numorous replacement cast items and finally a full repaint. Many of the most important spares dried up ages ago . If you lost any of the Brake hangers or chains hard lines, window wipers the same. Using the info supplied on the Spare parts drawing that was siupplied with my Deltic I contacted Heljan direct via their website . Their reply was a one liner referring me to contact Howes. Fast forward to the announcemnt during 2019 that Heljan would be doing a rerun of the Deltic and thinking that this would mean fresh supplies of parts I again contacted Heljan via their website, in fact twice asking if fresh supplies of Deltic parts would be released.... No reply what so ever. I then contacted Howes who told me they were hoping to see fresh supplies especially those that had been out of stock for some time. The fact that Howes have called it a day speaks volumes, draw you own conclusions Bob
  7. May I ask from where did you source the replacement smokebox door handle (Dart) Looks a nice casting Regards Bob
  8. Thank you for the clarification Bernard
  9. Doe this latest Bachmann J72 release just cover the first ten of the class built or the remainder up to and including the latter builds 69001- 69028
  10. Could not agree more Gary. An Accurascale O gauge Deltic or 37 mirrowing the sublime accuracy of the 4mm version would be irresistible
  11. Can anyone outline the detail differences between the original class members of J72s built way back from 1898 and the later 1950s build 69001 - 69028 Bob
  12. Please please Fran consider doing an O gauge Deltic and 37 regards Bob
  13. Just like your forthcoming Deltic I only wish you had plans to do these in O gauge
  14. ...........................and with the same glaring errors as before
  15. If its a BIG announcement it must be a Class 66. As all the liveries eventually seep out it could go on selling for years
  16. Has Heljan got any O gauge Diesel release spot on ?
  17. See the following link recentley in Hornby Magazine https://hornbymagazine.keypublishing.com/2019/08/01/video-flying-scotsman-with-zimo-sound/ This example uses a Zimo 645R decoder for OO Digitrains supplied zimo 645R active drive sound by Paul Chetter For a Heljan O gauge A3 an XL decoder would be required. I thought the Kylchap double chimmney exhaust souded pretty authentic and I'm very hard to please when comes to steam sounds Bob
  18. Plus.... compared to the competition they are overpriced
  19. Sun Chariot

    Hattons J24

Totally agree a J21 as 65099 is still with us
  20. Yes someone might think that they will sell enough to make it worthwhile to ptoduce.... but why. From recent released images it would appear that the cylinder drain cocks set up unique only to Flying Scotsman appear on all of the LNER and BR examples Such inaccuracies should not be there in the first place irrespective of the scale or price point
  21. Great to see that they run pretty well at speed with a good load behind but the smokebox door on the BR 60103 example is wonky as is the the drivers side smoke deflector A work still in progress
