  1. I opened my latest package from Accurascale and found these boxes as part of the packaging, I can’t help thinking they are a deliberate ploy by accurascale knowing how much the modeller values storage boxes to keep their name at the forefront of the mind! Very clever (and useful)!
  2. I did disconnect the Speedo but when I put it back together the Speedo cable got caught under the screw when I put it back together and it got pulled out when I tested the repair! I agree the design could have been better and feel I won’t miss the Speedo cable. It’s in the box though should I ever feel like putting the model on eBay.
  3. Quick update tried to post a video but wrong format, now fixed thanks for all the advice and guidance, the gears had indeed split bought a spare online dropped it in and all sorted, some valve gear got damaged unfortunately but soon straightened and the Speedo cable has gone but can live with that! Thanks all mark
  4. Thanks for the replies so far, when I get opportunity will take the chassis apart again and look at the suggested issues. cheers mark
  5. Hi All, have already contacted Hornby who will not look at the model as too old but I have an approx 2007 Hornby brit 70013 Oliver Cromwell and there is an issue in that you can turn the driving wheels by hand there is no drive to the wheels, there is no resistance to them which you would expect if the gears were meshing properly with the motor. It is a loco drive model I have taken the loco apart but cannot see an obvious issue. The motor does run and the loco will move or will just sit there with the motor running. Does anyone either know of a fix or know someone who will fix the model, only people you have used please. thanks mark
  6. A little concerned not heard about my RTC pack, I think McC said they were sorting them first as a small batch. Did email accurascale support yesterday but not heard back. Wonder if they have been stopped to sort the certificate issue.
  7. Kernow limited edition sound fitted class 90-£199, the Dcc ready version only £40 less which is what the non sound decoder from Bachmann would cost. https://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/p/72490/32-612ZSF-Bachmann-Class-90-1-Electric-90-129-Frachtverbindungen
  8. A new 58 with the Cavalex treatment would be nice.
  9. Not had much time today but opened the box of my 56 today, large logo 093. But just enough time for a quick perusal think wow flick through the excellent looking booklet and put it back in the box. Am looking forward to giving it a run. How about 56099 (in coal of course) fiddlers ferry power station in the next run particularly as they are pulling it down now?
  10. I wonder if they could pop up in the efe range in the same way the hymek did.
  11. Thanks Andy your pic of the window clip is obviously better than mine. So all my years of taking trains apart I pull the body side out to release the clip but in this case pulling the body side out is the opposite of what you should do because of the orientation of the clip. The instructions as shown above don’t mention these clips. I don’t know if I can be bothered to tell Hornby and tell them how their own models are put together- shouldn’t have too.
  12. I found the instructions very misleading if it had told me there were clips underneath i wouldn’t have broke them!
  13. Just had a battle with mine to get the body off to fit a dcc chip. The instructions state to unclip the body from the sides of the chassis but at least some of the clips are part of the glazing and are under the chassis. They are part of the glazing and I will try to show this in the following pictures. You can see some of the clips in the four square holes on the underside of the chassis.
  14. Pendolino’s have been coming into Blackpool since the line was electrified but never been on a Blackpool to London service.
  15. I popped in last week while on A/L from work, love the new shop and so spacious as already said, the shop used to be Rimmers music store where my son went for drum lessons so it was fascinating to see it so different. It’s been a huge task for Roger to move everything so congratulations to him for a job well done. He did say with the increased space he is going to get a few more OO bits into may have to visit more often! Mark
  16. Spoke with Jamie today following an email conversation about change of address, she reported they are preparing to send the models out and they shouldn’t be long. My impression was none sent out yet.
  17. An unfortunate but totally understandable decision none of us are getting any younger. Thanks for the memories and good luck to the club going forwards. mark
  18. I did watch the Hornby announcement and they did say there would be announcements throughout the year but I don’t recall if they mentioned a schedule like how Bachmann do it? Will they just be announcements of single items ad hoc through the year does anyone know?
  19. Watched the announcement video (wished I hadn't) -are the mk 3's the former oxford ones, I don't recall the Hornby models having that detail at the ends and the coupling is different (I think)? mark
  20. Sorry to see them go and thanks for all the good service over the years (assuming someone from hattons is reading this thread). Hopefully this is an isolated case.
  21. Thanks, not sure it was the voice over guy at the start of each episode so it seemed to indicate the sales as a whole not just Hornby. Perhaps I have misremembered it (too much liquid stuff over Christmas).
  22. Didn’t the recent Pete Waterman TV show suggest at the start the hobby was worth £20 million per year although no suggestion how that figure was reached or what it comprises I assumed just sales. Going back to the tiers and Hornby I am really looking forward to the new years announcements as it could give an indication of how things are going to be moving forward. The abolishment of the tiers is a good step along with the repair of the relationship with rails of Sheffield.
  23. Merry Christmas to all, thanks to everyone for your help, support, photos and opinions over the last year which unbeknown to the poster have helped me on my model railway journey. cheers mark
