  1. thanks the pic I looked at appeared to be black but essentially they should be the same colour whatever
  2. Photo of the city of Glasgow model on the sawyer models website http://sawyermodels.co.uk/?product=r30030-Hornby-br-large-logo-class-87-city-of-glasgow-87006 Did we decide the doors should be black? mark edit just found some prototype pics whole side should be black!
  3. According to their website kernow have the new 87’s in stock, Hornby stock picture though they haven’t put their own pictures up yet.
  4. Might not be last announcement was a class 40 which is more mainstream.
  5. Nope when you click actually onto the individual product page next to the price it shows out of stock but when you just search class 87 and you get the various options it no longer says out of stock there.
  6. I know what you mean I built a 1:72 spitfire with my son some years ago (and I had to finish it) but couldn’t summon the same enthusiasm as I used to have. Happier to build layout stuff but I think storage is also a factor, you can build a building for the layout and have somewhere for it to go, the spitfire- struggling to find a spot for it.
  7. Just clicked on and showing as in stock (again)! Edit- checked again and out of stock so I either missed the little sign last time or it’s changed again.

It’s a sad fact I post more cat related posts than train related posts on this whole forum!

  11. Fair enough thanks for your reply though cheers mark
  12. Are they being air freighted like the 92 or slow boat from China? thanks mark
  13. Went today and thoroughly enjoyed the show good mix of layouts and trade and always a good crowd around the euxton layout (although I do prefer Alderford)! Also got some bargain buildings from the club stall. Thanks for a great show Mark
  14. The BRM review from last year reports the model has twin flywheels but I don't have one so can't help with the rest of your post sorry. mark
  15. I thought Father’s Day was June - these would be a perfect gift!
  16. Despite the engine shed announcing the arrival of the class 87 (although in diesel form) they are still showing as for pre order on the Hornby site. So are they here , imminent or what? Does anyone know what it means? (Actually Hornby probably do but no time to ring them in the day maybe I will email in).
  17. I do like looking in the background in the shots of the office and spotted what looked like a blue lima box- hope they were not looking for inspiration in there!
  18. In the latest engine shed (have put this on that thread too).
  19. New engine shed up on Friday, apparently the class 87 diesels are due!!!
  20. Got to be a 25 probably the only manufacturer left who hasn’t produced one.
  21. Will the production sample 37's be there? Mark
  22. I think it can be true of any profession stories are embellished and exaggerated as they are retold over time. I was told a story many years ago about an engine which wouldn't come out of a tunnel so its paint wouldn't get ruined so it was bricked in- now that was definitely true!
