  1. Talking of songs featuring Mr Ivatt's locomotives...
  2. Execution Song - Blyth Power
  3. Smalltown England - New Model Army (Thanks Andi!)
  4. A quickie yesterday was to draft up the Brake Van in Silhouette Studio, cut in 10 thou sheet and assemble. Sides and ends are 2 layers of 10 thou laminated with D-limonene, underframe and roof are Dundas. Number decals are Railtec, part of the custom sheet of a dozen VoR coaches I had done. As I'd already done the Thirds/Brake Thirds in Studio, the Van was a simple case of copy/paste the required elements onto a shorter side. The ends are the same, just with the windows added to one end.
  5. Numbers 7 and 8 now have their number- and nameplates. Just the vac pipes, crews and coal to add to finish these off.
  6. (Almost*) the final touch on the coaches is to pick-out the door handles and grabs using a gold Sharpie marker, a tip picked up on the one the Facebook modelling groups this week. *vac pipes to add, they are on the bench now being painted. I'd forgotten about those... 🙄
  7. I've ended up using simplified DG (Type D) couplings, good value at £6 for 16-vehicle's-worth. Much more discrete than the Bemo type and closer coupling than the 3D printed Choppers I had tried.
  8. No Man's Land - New Model Army
  9. The pair of Brake Thirds and four Thirds are good to go, number decals a custom job from Railtec. Locos getting there, name and numberplates (7 & 8) from the old King's Cross range to add. And scenic work continues, should have the bulk of that completed over the coming weekend.
  10. One Of The Chosen - New Model Army
  11. A fellow Maidenhead cluub member recently gave me a 'Mark III NMRA H0 Standards Gage' with a Leading Records price tag.
  12. RSW is out at the Basingstoke exhibition on Sat 9 & Sun 10 March. https://www.basingstokemrs.org/exhibition-2024.html Thus far I've resisted the Hornby model of 88DS 20, as the one scratchbuilt by @Clive Mortimore is still perfectly servicable. 😁 I may even get 97804 from the same stable finally finished for Baz show.
  13. I'm bringing my Czech TT120 micro layout Nové Město na Nedostatku up to Model Rail Scotland this year.
  14. Nové Město is out this Sunday 21 Jan at the Astolat show in Guildford https://astolatmrc.co.uk/2024-exhibition/ And then next month it's heading all the way up to Glasgow for Model Rail Scotland at the SEC https://modelrail-scotland.co.uk/
  15. Summer Is A-coming in - Blyth Power
  16. You Weren't There - New Model Army
  17. Trouble over Bridgewater - HMHB
  18. Me and Mr Absolutely - Blyth Power
  19. The Man on the Burning Tightrope - Firewater
  20. Parking can be tight in the morning, due to junior football in the sports centre behind the venue. Usually better after lunch. There is on-street parking in the adjacent residential roads.
  21. Here's the showguide for Saturday.mmdmrc Jan 2024 showguide.pdf
  22. I scratchbuilt an H0 scale one in plastic (evergreen car siding and various microstrip sizes) a year or two back for Dounreay. There are/were some constructional pics in the layout thread.
  23. Sadly, Nottingborough has had to withdraw for personal reasons. In it's place, we will have our club BR 1970s EM layout, Shirebeck-in-Emswell. This also means a change to the club demo stand where our treasurer Chris will be building O gauge locos and stock, along with answering questions about the club. The showguide will be posted up here early next week.
