The final 2 major structures arrived in todays post, from MSModels an over-track footbridge to help hide the fiddle entry and a water tower, both very cleanly 3D printed in grey resin.

Do you mean move the loco from one end of a train to the other? One commonly used approach is a short or stub cassette (as long as your longest loco) which can attach/align with the main/train cassette. Train runs in, loco ends up on the stub cassette. Uncouple and lift the stub cassette with loco, move the train cassette along a bit to allow the stub cassette to fit at the other end of the train, align and couple to train, away you go. Use small bulldog clips or brass clips to align and electrically connect the cassettes with eath other.

With the eva fixed, a rough placement of track and structures. I've 'de-mirrored' the plan to better suit the points I have, so it's now a compressed version of Devil's Bridge. Fiddle stick at the right-hand end and this will be the viewing side. 4mm ply display box surround to cut and test fit, along with working out the wiring.

The photos I forgot to add yesterday... 🙄 The white Lack is the baseboard, with 2mm black eva foam sheet pva'd down. The black Lack is helping distribute the weight of assorted heavy things whilst the pva goes off. A productive evening saw the coaches built and seating fitted, just the extrenal details (hinges and handles) from microstrip, then a coat of primer. I need to get a couple more roof mouldings from Dundas, along with bogies for the next couple of coaches (another Third and 2 summer opens) And the buildings, with the 2 main structures and a Pagoda hut I'd forgotten about. I'll need to sort a water tower and the footbridge to straddle/hide the fiddle exit.

Thanks, I had seen those, though the price is a little off-putting at nearly £6 per vehicle. I did find a seller (Custom 009) on Facebook who does a 3D printed Chopper. Perhaps not as fine as the Tramfabriek ones, but acceptable enough for me, reliable and my whole fleet equipped for little over a tenner!

*blows the dust off* I've decided that Mynydd y Ddraig will be my winter modelling project, so I've started prepping the Lack with EVA foam sheet and gathering the track components together. I had built the key structures last year - the Wills 'Tin Tabernacle' modified for the station building and a store/shed made from their wriggly tin sheet. I still need to make the water tower. I've also been busy building more coaching stock, 3 more Thirds, 2 Brakes and another summer open to give me a core fleet of 8, forming 2 rakes. A second loco body, this one a 3D print, joins the Chivers kit-built one. And some freight/PW stock from various sources. I have a show deadline of mid-February 24 to help focus my time and energies 😉

Interesting and potentially useful. My only concern is when rescaling down to H0, what axle length would be required? 24.5mm pin-points is fairly standard in the scale. I'd respectfully point out that BR1s ride on 3ft6in wheels, which scales to 14mm in 4mm, rather than 12.6mm. In H0 I use 12mm disc wheels (slightly under diameter, but within the acceptable wear limits of the prototype). In any event, I have a few dozen of my resin BR1 sideframes still to use, plus a bunch of 80 thou plasticard, but thanks for the suggestion. I would probably be interested in Commonwealth bogies, if they are under consideration.

I've made use of the old Jouef/Playcraft underframes under a number of my H0 wagons: The 105mm length chassis is good as is for the LNER 22t Tube (BR diagram 1/445) and cut-down under Plates and TTAs. The 81mm 'Mineral' underframe, again cut down, makes a good 12ft wheelbase underframe for Grampus, Pipes, etc. There's a seller on ebay (tonysstoreonline) who sells the Jouef underframes alone for around £2.50 a pop

Yesterday, I cut down a rather warped Rivarossi LMS Third Corridor by 10ft and re-skinned it to make an H0 50ft full brake, using the same technique as the Mk1s. (Hornby OO one above in 1 pic, showing the difference between OO and H0) On the same cut file, as the components are broadly standard, I also did the sides for the Stove R and sides/ends for the 42ft CCT for future use.
