  1. Theres a thread on this very internet place for everyone to ruin with wishlisting. Even has rubber mats!!
  2. Who is going to buy them though, they sell unpainted wagons, but thats it
  3. The last few sets were delivered in that livery, so around 30 years ago <Insert 'My Wallet is safe quote here'>
  4. Fair points, certainly regarding promotion. Time and manpower is the enemy now. Doesn't matter how much promotion you do, people will always say they didn't know. I believe there are 1 or 2 casinos along the strip in Las Vegas, wasn't handed a flyer about it though
  5. You wont, look up videos of the ESU Euro66 on youtube. Like something off the classic 80's Thomas series........
  6. Just over a week to go - the website has been updated yet again with an up to date list of Exhibitors and Trade For the first time Card Payments will be accepted for Admission, Rail Side Cafe and the MRSI Pre-Owned Sales Stand https://www.modelrailways.ie/events/exhibition-2022
  7. They used to be on here, but quickly tired of the 'disgusted of tunbridge wells' brigade whose whole life existence was threatened by the little things that were wrong and easily resolved, such as colour issues and wonky pickups. Their own Dapol Digest forum is quiet. Making models is their main business
  8. All of my 73's needed paint of one form or another, not to mention etched parts and decals, along with extra pickups. But these were all acquired cheaply, none at RRP, even the single new one I bought For me its a part of it, its railway modelling, not railway collecting
  9. All fixable, especially the first two, but agreed about long pointed out errors and still not being changed Held the first decorated samples in October 2018..... and one very simple thing has remained unchanged, the EWS font is used on the repeated numbers on the front of the ARC/National Power ones as opposed to Rail Alphabet. As yet Dapol have yet to announce EWS or DB 59/2's. But other things such as the size of the running light clusters on the 59/0 have been correctly changed. But its still not the OO gauge RTR loco with the longest gestation period....
  10. Did you lads get any further with the Eurostar?
  11. Are the same amount being printed as previous editions, just wondering if I can wait until Glasgow in February or not
  12. People forget - this has been at least 2 years in planning, Hornby didnt react to Heljans news suddenly
  13. Hornby seems to have set a tangent for stock that doesnt run well, whereas Heljan stuff does. Wheres the odd bit?
  14. Heljan don't want to spend money on a 31 in TT when everything else that runs with it is bad, a rose among the thorns TT may well become the next Hornby live steam........
  15. They did move around, depending on era. @Steadfast would have the knowledge in his brain, I need to rely on paper based methods... 59001-4 were delivered without them, but soon gained them, as did all mainline locos in the late 80's. 59005 (possibly) and 59101-4 onwards were delivered with 2. Not sure about the 59/2's given the rapid advances in radio technology they may have have only had 1 from new - I'm not sure...
  16. Check out the ALL NEW Model Railway Society of Ireland Website - http://www.modelrailways.ie

  17. If it is, theres a bit of plastic coming out to make it sit lower. The preproduction bodies I saw had a piece under where the silencer goes, obviously a 'feed' for the smoke generator to stop the plastic from being melted, although this could also have been a cradle/surround for a speaker. This is going to be another 68 / 73 - 'Nice model but.........' A decent mechanism will save it for me though
  18. Is it oversized, or just positioned high. Is the smoke generator, or at least the space for it still a part of this model though
  19. A Class 59 in OO gauge would be lovely
  20. This and your post count - are you on the kr payroll perchance??
  21. If you opened a significantly filled briefcase in front of them they would. Look at the retailer commissioned stuff made by all of the big manufacturers
  22. New club website updated with the latest information - https://www.modelrailways.ie/events/exhibition-2022
  23. Can you refrain from judging by looking at a hand assembled sample, wait until the production ones arrive
