  1. Thanks for this, I’ll have to try and get a copy once they open up again.
  2. That’s a thought, any idea where I could find when locos were overhauled?
  3. Thank you everyone for the help, greatly appreciated. Even if none of the class carried BR liveries, it still might be fun to imagine what they could’ve looked like
  4. Good Evening, I’ve been trying to research the GWR 26xx Aberdare class and what livery they would’ve had in British Railways service. I know that they only lasted until 1949, so would it be reasonable to assume that most (if not all) members that made it into BR would have carried their GWR liveries? Did they ever carry BR liveries? Any photos or information is appreciated. Jonathan.M
  5. Do you have a photo of this? From what I’ve found, it was only the lining that was on one side only, not the blue-grey paint.
  6. Thanks for showing me this, I’ll have to find a shade of RAF blue-grey that looks best. As for the lining, Wikipedia describes it as ‘pale straw yellow line along the running plate with yellow and black edging to cab and tender’, the lining only being applied to one side. Any suggestions on how I should go about modelling this (e.g. waterslide decals in appropriate colours) ?
  7. Hello, Does anyone know the exact shade of blue the LMS used after WWII on Jubilee class ‘Newfoundland’ 5573 and Coronation class ‘Duchess of Abercorn’ 6234 as an experimental livery? Most sites I’ve found describe it as RAF blue-grey, but there are many other sources that say (or show) otherwise. I’ve included a few photos of computer generated models and a painting below. Wikipedia also describes the paint as ‘blue-grey’ but has never authenticated. The locos were also apparently lined on only one side with red-cream lining around the cab side and tender with cream along the running boards, but I’ve found no images confirming this and I’m not sure how to go about replicating this. Any help would be appreciated.
  8. Thanks for the help everyone. Does anyone know if the Mk2 Pullmans for the Manchester - Liverpool service available in OO gauge?
  9. Hello all, Pullman coaches are well known across almost all of the BR regions, but I’ve never seen any photos of any in the London Midland region of BR (apart from the Blue Pullman). Were they ever used on this region, and if so, in what trains? My layout is to be set in 1948 - 1968. Jonathan.M
  10. Sol: Thanks for your help. Is there a certain CDU I should use? Free At Last, Il Grifone: Thanks for your help. knitpick: Thanks for suggesting the push buttons. Are these recommended over Peco pl-26 levers? As it’s a fairly small layout, I don’t think route setting will be necessary. DavidCBroard: As my first layout, I was hoping to get an idea of how to build and wire a layout. Did you make the route setting panel? Can something similar to that be used with toggle switches? I’ll try a get a photo of the track plan.
  11. Hello, I’ve been planning my first layout (OO gauge) and I am having trouble finding out how to wire nine Peco solenoids to operate from the same power source. I’m new to electrics and any help is appreciated. Thank you.
  12. Thanks for everyones help. Jonathan.M
  13. Corbs, Thanks for clarifying. I don’t really understand ‘Double pole double throw’ or anything like that.
  14. SRman and Phil S, Thank you for helping, but I’m not very good at complex wiring, let alone understanding it. If I knew what you were talking about, I’d take your advice! Thanks for trying to help. Jonathan.M
  15. Hello, I’ve seen a few articles in Hornby Magazine saying that people’s layouts are powered by both DC and DCC control. How would this be possible? Jonathan.M
