  1. All Many thanks for all your inputs will take all your comments on board and let you know how I get on. regards Felix
  2. Hi 43310 I have just managed to get power. I turned one of the points on and suddenly had power. When I switch it the other way all power goes so I now know where the problem is. I have 2 opposing electrofrog turnouts with polarity switches attached and have cut the little turnout wires as per instructions. When I put nylon connectors on when they oppose each other I end up with both rails insulated. Is this correct? Sorry to be a pain but am learning quite quickly. Regards Felix
  3. Hi John P Thanks. It’s a Peco ST 250 insulfrog. I have checked and it does have 2 sets of droppers i.e. 4 in total. I’ll try disconnecting to see if that is the problem. Felix
  4. Hi 43110 2 of the turnouts are Peco to which I have fitted micoswitches. The microswitches connect to the stock rails so are connected to the powerbus. The turnouts are wired to the accessory bus. The other turnout is a Hornby with no microswitch (had in stock). I have used nylon connectors as per peco guidance. I also have a crossover that I have attached 2 droppers and nylon insulated all 4 rail ends. Felix
  5. Hi 43110 I wired it myself. If I disconnect the frog wires then maybe this will eliminate one possible short? Felix
  6. Hi 41330 Sorry for delay but am in rural France and broadband signal is very hit and miss. I have a 2 road layout with 2 sidings one of which is the programme track which is separated from main track with nylon joiners. I have 6 turnouts but only 3 have electric solenoid motors. The turnouts are on a separate accessory bus controlled with a guagemaster combi. The turnouts work fine. The main track is about 3 metres by 2 metres with droppers about every 60 cms. The main power bus is controlled with a NCE powercab. I can’t see any obvious shorts but know how to do this logically. Thanks Felix
  7. Hi I’m new to the hobby and have bought a powercab and built a small layout with a separate programme track. I managed to get my loco to respond on the programme track but don’t seem to have power to the main. I started with an auto switch but when I couldn’t get main to work I disconnected it and wired main powerbus direct to powercab. The powercab light on the panel lights up when not connected to main but goes out when I connect it up. Can anyone suggest a way forward?
