  1. I guess all the coins and notes were carried in the bullion vans, but what was the purpose of the bullion flats? I can only find pictures of them with no load???
  2. So just to confirm, even the coaches had SC prefixes?
  3. So if I'm getting my powercars renumbered with SC prefixes, do I get the coaches done too?
  4. Some Eastern Region HST powercars had SC prefixes instead of the usual E or W prefixes - set 254016 was one example with SC 43086 and SC 43087. My question is, did the coaches also have SC prefixes or did they have E prefixes?

  6. Yes that's all I could find too. Would be useful to know what types they were.
  7. Hi I'm trying to find out the stock used on the Cambrian Coast Express railtour on 28 January 1978, powered by 24087 and 24133. Did anyone male a note of the coaches? Thanks
  8. Thanks very much. I've seen several pictures of this train in the 80s and by then it doesn't appear to have any catering. Seems strange to me.
  9. Thanks for explaining that. I didn't know Cricklewood had an allocation of coaching stock. Great one!
  10. 2 questions: Did the Stirling/Newton Abbot convey a catering vehicle, and if not, why not? and Where was the stock allocated to? Laira? Or somewhere in Scotland? Thanks

  15. Would anyone have details of the rakes of coaches used on this service as the links mentioned earlier in this thread have stopped working. I'm particularly interested in the rakes used around 1974/5 when the service ended. Thanks very much
  16. Hi Trying to recreate the class 20's to Skegness but unsure what coaching stock was used. Particularly interested in the Mk. 1s era. Can anyone assist? Ta in advance.
  17. I think the headcode should have been 6B31 for this journey (not 6B78). Can someone check this one out?
  18. Can anyone provide any headcodes and departure times of these trains c. 1980, in particular the ones operated by class 25. Thanks in advance
  19. That's brilliant. Thanks for your help and I love the pictures. Cheers everyone
  20. Sorry everyone, I made some more enquiries and I think the train was from Swindon, NOT Gloucester. I believe it was the 1C11 06:45 Swindon to Penzance and it ran in 1986/7. So back to my original question, Can anyone tell me how it was formed? Either coach numbers or type will do. Thanks again
  21. Trying to think how old I was at the time as I was only a child. I reckon it might have been 1985 or 86. From memory it got to Exeter about 9 or 10am approx. I'm fairly certain it was a Gloucester - Penzance service. Was always a class 50 on it. It may have been a Saturday only service thinking about it, as I was at school during the week!
