hi i have a factory sound fitted one and i noticed that one ends cab lighting wasnt working ...what i needed to so was just tweek the contacts to connect better

hi there nice to see another dcc'er local to me .. yes northampton also ... i can try and help with answering some questions over a coffee etc ... i use a digitrax system and have done since 1999 . im in the middle of a huge upgrade of the railway from z to n so bit are working and bits arent tony

....i now know it can .......the issue is the software not being able to as mixing the 2 systems is not the best idea and can cause issues tony

the number of slots for me isnt reallly an issu what is an issue is running advanced and legacy throttles mixed and as the one software that has replied isnt supporting the extended at the moment then you have the mixture i know the dt 402 and the 500 can turn off the use of the expaned slots but im not sure you can do that on the 602

well i have found out one (as i suspected) of the 2 main players does not support the expanded slots on the dcs240 but ive had no reply from the other one which i find dissapointing espcally as the the other replied back within a few hours

Hello all you software guru's this question has come up in my head while trying to bottom out something else .... and that is the train controll software ... what ever the flavor is ...acts as far as loconet is concerened a clever throttle ... but digitrax with the introduction of the dcs240 intruduced expanded slots (ie upto 400 loco slots in the command station) but the functionality has to be turned on in the later throttles to use the extra capacity....so my question is does the software of what ever flavor use the extended capacity i ask this as there seems to be issues with using both legacy and the new extended throttles you can turn of the extra slots in the cs to stop the issue but i wondered what the situation is with the software implementation of the throttle tony

hi as of the 14/8/2020 Digitrax have released a firmware update just letting you know

now thats interesting as ive had the same issue but .. it really didnt bother me as i dont find the loco images useful as one black steam loco loos like another black steam loco ..i just use the cab numbers

the thing is and maybe this isnt the right thread ... that if Herr Friwald released some basic information on what was updated on each minor update, the end user would have a better idea if the update was needed by them, so they could make an informed decision of install or not to install the update we dont really know what the difference for instance v b1 and v b2 .. so we have no idea if there is anything we should check or to leave the update as there is no gain for a particular person

i do get the feeling this thread did have something to do with his decision as for the price it doesnt really effect me as i have already purchased it .. unless he brings out a new version and then i would concider my options as what id do as as it stands it almost does what i want amd with a workaround i can get it to do every thing i want need so unless there was a huge change to things that i can do in a roundabout way im not sure what id do as yet i havent run into any bugs that stop me dead unlike poor Shirley

Finally it looks like Herr Friewald has found/admitted theres an issue and a fix will be comming in due cource shame it too so much "discussions" with Shirley to actually agree that there was an issue tho it must be said not with the stick its self as was stated many times but Herr Friewald did have a lot more information than us poor users but at least theres light at the end of the tunnel for Shirley

but is he selling you the stick or the program and giving the stick for free?

there is no program on the stick but you need the stick for the program to work so i dont think that counts

now that is a good point and im sure it will have been tried but i will wait to see if it really could be as simple as resending the code it would be nice if it were that simple and my i ask how did you stick go faulty

the digital river thing is relatively new and i guess shirley like myself paid for the version a longtime ago direct to herr freiwald and then did the versions update.... also paying directly ver 9 has been out some time and i think the claim back moneys time limit has sadly long since past

while youu are correct you are not taking into accout that stic b works in both places on b2 so that should rule out the instalations the way for this to be fully tested is if herr freiwald was to look at the problematical stick to rule it out ones and for all as its far more cost effective than sending the pc .. layout etc to germany ... the other option would be the herr freiwald takes a vacation to see sherleys layout and setup to advise as to the solution to her problem ... im sure the poor lady has no hair left as shes pulling it out over this problem i do feel her offer to send the stick back at her cost and to pay for a replacement if needed is a very generous offer on her part

also by deduction as both sticks have been tried on 2 seperate layouts and pcs and the only common intem when it fails is stick a you can deduce that it is indeed stick a that is at fault
