First of the mk1's due tomorrow according to Rails.

Wonder if these are now due Q4 with the rest of the second run?

From the sound of this Rails facebook post, the second batch (presumably including the Kernow and Gaugemaster specials) is now due Q4. Model has been updated to a plux22 though, hopefully this is to give the correct lighting functions (we can hope). Apart from maybe the bogie detail this shows just how good the Bachmann model still is, especially when it's weathered up. I didn't sell mine when the Hattons came out and I won't this time either. In fact I've just finished repainting one this week using 66711 Sence as a donor.

Does the 8 ohm speaker stop the sound cutting out on startup? Which one did Richard recommend please?

There were 7 when I opened the emails, had 2 in my basket and managed to get 1 by the time I'd found my card ha. I've since bought a second from trains4u who still have some.

Ok I've calmed down and realised it works both ways so maybe I just need to be quicker. Will tape my card to my phone for easy access next time 🤣

It's really bloody annoying when you have two wagons in your basket, are putting card details in then it says basket updating due to quantity change. Why can the website not secure your items for a few minutes like other sites do!

Oh 💩 I was happy before but that Bachmann coach looks rediculous now compared to that latest photo 🙃 Repaint it is. Railmatch EWS Maroon looks a good match? Unless anyone from Accurascale can let me know what paint code they used?

My WCRC pair arrived yesterday. Yes they are fantastic coaches, but that's already been covered to death. I was more interested in the comparison to the Bachmann WCRC release though, as along with the forthcoming Accurascale mk2c and Bachmann mk1s they will make the full rake. Anyway after a bit of weathering they look pretty good together, just like a rake would that's been painted over a few years. Body sides kept clean, but underframes, lower sides and roof dirtied up a bit. I also used a bit of tcut on the sides to get that nice used shine effect which old stuff seems to get because of too many oily rags. All quite subtle but basically they look alright together. Few pics in natural light below. Only thing I'm unsure of is the West Coast logo. Can't tell which one is right, but I think I'll order some from railtec and probably end up redoing them all as no doubt that will be different again 😄

I agree to a certain extent, and actually quite like subtle differences, especially on the roofs, but looking at the post above of the two models, it makes it look like Bachmann have just stuck a wcrc logo on the side of a BR Maroon MK2.

Oh poop that's a massive difference. Can see me re-spraying my Bachmann coach now and getting some railtec decals as I've just fitted lights, passengers and weathered it ready for the newbies to arrive. Never even thought to check Bachmann had got the blooming colour right 🫣

The new batch of 68s which were due Q1 have been pushed back to July/Aug apparently. Presumably the second batch of 59s too as still not seen those samples. Guessing these will slide too.

Anyone seen a pre-production sample yet for these? Are they still due Q1?
