  2. Hi Gary, I will be travelling through to Glasgow on the Friday and looking forward to seeing Glenuig in the flesh. Hopefully get a chance to chat as I think we might have something in common. ! Bill.
  3. Hi, And so say all of us ! Might just sneak 37 038 or 27 037 for a spin round when your back's turned Mark ! Bill.
  4. Hi, Your quite right - they were dim! Might just leave well alone, like the idea of just one tail light though! ( do you think anyone would notice? ). Bill.
  5. Hi, Have the new batch of 27's got improved lights - very poor on my example! Haven't got round to do anything with them yet - spent the money on a 'sound decoder'! Bill.
  6. Hi, Great to see your layout in the flesh Mark at Glasgow! Yes it was me that spotted the 'speed bumps'! Hope to make it back on the Sunday and get some pics - with your permission of course! Bill.
  7. Hi Mark, I will be at Glasgow with the Bonnybridge Club layout on the Friday will drop by and say hello . Bill.
  8. Hi, Some nice work going on here - I like the weathering on the loco's - and, it's 'blue and Scottish' Nice . Bill.
  9. Hi, Don't know how I missed this one - it just 'bursts' with atmosphere! and there is so much going on - don't know how you manage to keep up . Bill.
  10. Hi, It's time I added my own layout 'Kinlochewe' to this distinguished list . Bill.
  11. Hi Richard, I especially like the weathering on the '25' nice! Bill.
  12. Hi Mark, I too need to get hold of some trees for my own layout but never thought to look at the Hornby range- are all those trees at the rear of the station really all Hornby- as they are certainly effective. By the way I have more than enough 'blue'' stock I can let you have for 'Rannoch' - just don't turn your back! Bill.
  13. Hi Craig, Wot a 'jammy devil' you are I remember this layout -only ever saw it once! I agree you have to keep the name! Will be great to see it again. I'm sure you will do it justice. (now where did I put those LL 37's - you know the 'weathered' ones ) Bill.
  14. This is my first time on the 'Blog' and have just stumbled on your ramblings. you seem to have captured the feel for the 'West Highland' nice How did you model your 'rock faces' if I may be so bold? Bill.
  15. Hi, This is really looking good- will watch with interest! I notice you are using polystyrene to form the ground contours will be interesting to see how this develops! I am using the same material to form a rock face on my own layout. Bill.
  16. Hi Nice big layout! I especially like your 'weathering' that on the 33' and 37's - you have your own unique style. I take it you use some kind of 'wash' and then remove the surplus thus leaving the staining around the detail? Bill.
  17. My apologies for not posting this sooner! I had only recently had a reply from Keith and was shocked to say the least- my condolences to his family. Bill.
  18. Hi Keith, Thanks for the piccy! Think I might just go ahead and use mine along with the Knightwing kit as the area I have allocated will accomodate both! Bill.
  19. Hi Keith I see you have featured the 'Scenecraft' Oil Storage tanks on your layout. I recently bought one on E-bay and was disappointed how 'clumsy' it looked! However it looks really at home on your layout. I intend to use the 'Knightwing' horizontal tanks along with the Bachmann ones - but thought it might overpower them! Now I'm not so sure they will. What mods did you make with yours? and would it be possible to post a couple of close-ups? Bill.
  20. Hi Dave, No- haven't been asleep! have been pretty busy at work! That last pic of the "27" is truly amazing You certainly have an eye for a piccy! Cheers, Bill.
  21. Hi Mark, It is my intention to attend Perth on the Sunday at some point I will certainly take up your invite to come to the DEMU stand and have a look at the station building. Cheers, Bill.
  22. Who needs passengers? seriously, I too am working along the lines of 3 coaches and CL37 loco. With both boards 4' long and a fiddle yard to boot! I ain't takin' no passengers in my 207! Bill.
  23. Hi Gary, I shall be watching this thread with interest - I too have a similar dilemma! Although I had a mind to go down the route of a "sliding traverser" you know the type that uses drawer runners. Anyone out there tried this? Regards, Bill.
  24. Hi Superb layout Hugh- really catches the atmosphere of the scottish landscape- not too much clutter! but enough to hold your interest! Look forward to more pics of Balvenie Bill.
  25. Hi Dave Just love the latest pics - especially the 27'. I was doing a bit of shopping in Edinburgh last Monday at Harburn getting all my stuff together for new layout and wandered into the 'gardens' for a spot of lunch (was such a nice day) and had a peek into the Waverley approaches - honest Dave the layout is almost as good as yours mate. Cheers, Bill.
