2mm and 4mm model railways namely South Eastern, South Western and Great Western pre and post-nationalisation, (Although more 4mm nowadays with the inevitable eyesight deteriation that goes with getting a little older!) , I actually enjoy soldering! Woodwork, reading, caravanning and keeping my old Jeep on the road! Oh! And going to work occasionally! Also a member of the Signalling Records Society.... I find the history of signalling fascinating!

About Me

I've been into model railways since childhood (1970s) with the usual Hornby/Triang train sets on a 6ft by 4ft lump of chipboard that my Father started me off on then moved from London to Kent and carried on with an interest in OO with various attempts at 'proper' layouts but never completed for various reasons, later on in life I got into N gauge for quite a few years and built several different layouts over the years amongst getting married then divorced then married again then dabbled in 2mm finescale but didn't really get anywhere apart from a few bodged attempts at building track and turnouts, although the plain track turned out ok (Copper clad soldered construction using jigs)  and now i'm back into 4mm because I find it easier and am building a layout in OO using the new Peco bullhead turnouts and track but have also joined the EM Gauge society and have purchased jigs etc with a view to building a small portable EM gauge project...……..
