Don't think there has ever been a Loco named Beeching?
As AYmod has posted earlier, there is a Class 47 named Beeching's Legacy (kind of funny as the Class 47 helped to replace the steam locos that Beeching got rid of)

Someone’s copying the West Coast way then? 😜
Very much look forward to seeing this in BR civil engineers 😀👍🏼
They've only just repainted it!
But yes, It would look in "Dutch"

Photo is a bit rubbish but got a proper look at 37264 today.

Got my first glimpse of 37264 in its new BR blue livery on Easter Monday.
Unfortunately, there were carriages in the way so I couldn't see it properly.

Cracking job, personally I would have preferred preferred tops numbers and headcodes but that's just my preference. Good to see its had a good restoration.
It has got its TOPs number on already. unless you mean its old BR number (D6964?).
I'll be honest, the BR large logo livery, although it's a good livery, was looking a bit faded. The guys have done a great job and I can't wait to see '264 back in service.

That is pretty hideous to be honest. Any reason why Large Logo could not have been retained?
I think it's alright. The red and black parts are good but I think the grey is too light. Maybe if they changed it to a darker grey, it would look better.
I don't know why they repainted it from BR blue but there's probably a reason for it out there somewhere.

I visited the museum yesterday and asked one of the volunteers if they would be getting a new workshop. He said that the museum currently don't have any plans to.
So that'll be a no.
In more positive news, I was also told that the balcony overlooking the real railway should reopen sometime this month.

Isn't she wrong about North Yard as that isn't owned by the NRM? I presume she means South Yard or North Shed as there is a prep bay in North Shed?
That's what I was thinking

Update:
I now know the identity of one of the guest locos and it's been confirmed that it will be going. I'm going to wait until the NYMR officially says it before I tell you all.

You're not going to persuade me to go, the way that place has treated its volunteers and now its paid staff in the past 12 months has been absolutely disgusting.
I wasn't trying to.
As a volunteer. I think I'm actually being treated well: I haven't come across anyone who's been nasty to me yet.

They're making the guy who has pretty much kept the diesels going for 30 odd years redundant, good luck with that.
We're already on talks with the owners of, hopefully, 2 guest locos. I can't say anything at the moment but think they're a brilliant choice.

I've only seen 2 of the 4 surviving Jubilees: Galatea (which I've rode behind) and Leander.
I've yet to see Kolhapur and Bahamas

UPDATE:
70000 Britannia will now not be visiting the line. This is due to the delay of the work on it that is currently going on. It is awaiting parts that are needed for repairs.
Because of this, 70000 wouldn't be operational in time for the visit and has now been replaced with 46100 Royal Scot.

Saw 37264 helping 08850 on some coach moves in Pickering carriage stable on 06/01/24. Took a couple of photos.
So what's changed?
Well, the windows on the bodyside looks like they have been masked off, the number and BR double arrow have been removed although the outline is still visible. There's more green primer on the bodyside in various places. The front ends look the same as before.

Eardington station (SVR) theft
in Preservation
Posted
Don't know of this has been covered on here yet, but the lamp room at Eardington station, located on the Severn Valley Railway, was raided and a large number of items were stolen on 15/04/24.
The items included a dozen loco lamps, a cast iron door sign, brass oil cans, a milk churn and an enamelled advertising sign along with a toolbox of spare parts that have been accumulated over the last 20 years.
Also, just a few days earlier, Hampton Loade was also subject to a theft in which cast-iron signage was taken.
