46100 Royal Scot to visit NYMR

I wasn't sure if Britannia would be the only loco running during the services so I've asked around and by the sound of things, I think it will be. -

Better than a broken one, that's for sure. -

Yes, the loco will have to be test ran and minor issues fixed before it goes back on the mainline but other than that I don't know. -
70000 Britannia will be visiting the North Yorkshire Moors Railway in February next year. (Not my photo) From the 10th to 18th February, 70000 will be hauling 2 round trips a day on the 18 mile line. The services will depart from Pickering at 11:00 and 14:00. Details on the event can be found here.

That's definitely a Christmas card cover

Here's a few photos of 51218 in bits when I was removing the motor last night. One of the bits that is at the end of the pistons came off and the sliding rod at that side came out while my Grandad was working on it earlier yesterday so I had to take the wheels off to put the rod back in place. Then I tried gluing the bit that broke off back in place bit it didn't work so I just left it off for now. 51218 in bits. Close up of the bit that broke off. The removed motor Wires temporarily twisted together and tucked inside the saddle tank. Back together again! (I'll admit that this photo was taken this morning)

Got some bad news concerning 51218. Recently, 51218's motor burnt out while undergoing test runs after a service on Tuesday at the club. I'm unable to find a replacement motor despite looking on Ebay for one. I've removed the motor earlier tonight so it has now got a free rolling chassis. However, all is not lost as it'll still be part of Oxendale's loco fleet but will be working with another loco as it is no longer powered.
