  1. Ade, I love those coaches! I just happened to be looking on you tube and learned a great deal about "SLIP" coaches. Kind of re-sparked my passion for british railway. How have you been!? Here in the states it's absolutely crazy, and now the second wave is coming in several states. I sense another lock down again... Keep up with the work I like what I see, btw nice statue sitting outside the shop. Dan T.
  2. ADE, You never cease to amaze us! I loved the Slater Coach kit build, the details are most impressive. Can't wait to see where you go with this awesome build! I've been reading up on the Malmesbury Branchline book, the one you recommended moons ago. Is given me a real sense of appreciation for the research into it's writing. Its filled with history and awesome pictures! Maybe one day I'll visit Malmesbury, even tho the railway is long gone. Your recreation of the Branchline here is going to be awesome! (I can feel it in me bones!) Keep up the good work. Quick question, what did you use with the brickwork on the Platforms you have created? They look really really good! I wished that I had a boss as kind as yours, I'm still working for the time being. Writing scripts for a Application approval, very tedious work. Every pick and click has to be written and proven to work. Ironically for with a very large pharma company that is locations at the international stage, including a site in Chester. I am also very happy to hear that your Grandchild is doing great and has responded so well to the ops and treatments provided. Our Sabella Rose, whom I spoke of is doing great as well. We will still need to visit the cardiologist for yearly checkups but otherwise God willing she's doing great. Keep up the amazement! Dan T.
  3. Ade, It has been a while since I last reviewed this Forum, progress has been impressive. I loved watching the videos of the equipment running on the branchline. They have been cheerful and uplifting to watch in times like this, here in the states things are so gloomy. Worst yet, in my home State (NY) the highest count of COVID-19 cases in the US! I've been in lock down for nearly a month and half. Local businesses have shut down, food stores at times are low of necessities including food. I have a little girl of 9 months, that I do not want to risk exposure to this nasty mutated bug. In her short time with us she has been through alot. Born prematurely, heart surgery, and now this bug. Times have been very trying these days. As things stand in my home state NY there are some 213k cases confirmed, 14k who have unfortunately perished and only 27.5k that have recovered. Those numbers make me depress. BUT on the other hand I can't imagine what many of the other countries are going through in these times, especially Italy, or even refuge in camps so many many families impacted by this nasty bug, my heart aches for them. I hope that all of you in UK, yourself included Ade, your families all remain safe and healthy! Thanks for posting and keep up the Good work and inspiration on the Branchline! Dan T.
  4. Ade, Loved the update photos! is that a 2-6-2T I see on the layout!? some mighty powerful shunting four sure! My Hornby 14xx finally arrived today, and I'm super excited to work on it. I'm Planning to upgrade the motor, replacing the tracting wheels with full flange wheels, add detailing, repaint and weather. I've noticed that on several forums discussing couplings in 00 scale, some have removed the Hornby Coupling all together in favor of Kadee metal couplings. Whilst others have preferred modifying their Hornby coplings using a bent wire that is fitted over the buffers (I assume). I was wondering if you have any ideas for close to realistic couplings for 00 scale? Thanks Dan T.
  5. Ade, Soon there'd be revenue service running on the Malmesbury branch again! Love to see those progress pictures, please keep those pictures rolling! How do you like the Dapol Senteinel? Have you had the chance to test run it on the branch? Dan T.
  6. Ade, It looks like the Malmesbury Branch line will live once again soon! Love the paint job thus far! Starting to look like a station! Dan T.
  7. Pretty soon, if any one were to visit Ade and he doesn't immediately come to the front door, they'll have to check the GWR house in the back! Ade it looks awesome! Love the shades, and the structure simply looks awesome. At first glance this look like a modern day erector set for home builders! Quick and easy I only say that because your pictures make it appear that way, but I don't want to discount any work as I'm sure many many hours were spent getting thus far! My crystal ball tell me that in the very near future the electrical work will be coming. Keep up the good work Dan T.
  8. Fantastic Progress on the new home of the Malmesbury Station layout! It won't be long you'll be enjoying a cuppa and running some errands on the branch line! Dan
  9. Ade and Friends, Happy New Years and Decade to all! Dan T.
  10. Ade, Nice detailing! i love how the rivets just pops out. Can't wait to see more! Dan T.
  11. Ade, Well deserved cup of tea! I've placed an order for the Mike's Malmesbury Branchline book, can't wait to get it gonna take a few weeks to get it through customs *Sigh*. Keep up the good work! Got a move in date in mind? Dan T.
  12. Ade, My name is Dan, I'm from the states on the other side of big blue. I wanted to let you know that my Son and I are really enjoying this forum series, mainly because we're also are starting our very own Malmesbury Branchline as well! This forum has provided a wealth of information, and in particular I enjoy the building progress thus far. I mean your Malmesbury branch simply rules the roost, it even has a dedicated building for it! I love the fact that the forum even has posted photos of the real location as it stands now. We got our inspiration by playing on the Train simulator addon "The Malmesbury Branch" and have immensely enjoyed it. Often we're playing in Multiplayer mode on this computer simulator and have frequently used the Malmesbury Branch to keep us preoccupied. I recently happen to come across a brass GWR Pannier listed on ebay, located Connecticut and purchased it. This pannier featured an Arch Bar Cab Version in '00' scale. A chain reaction as now started since that purchase, we have started collecting tracks pieces as required for this branchline. I am curious however about the other end of the branch line, it seems as if continued via the Great Somerford Halt before meeting the main line at Dauntsey. Sometime 1933 the line to Dauntsey was abandoned and a connection to the mainline at Little Somerford was made. Does the book you feature make any mention of that part of the branchline? Please keep posting with this inspirational layout. Dan T.
