All Let me turn this around why should we D&E modellers spend a single cent on this venture to a museum which has until now had a very anti D&E policy also if its a true one off then none of the funds raised will do anything to further D&E modelling on a wider scale. In addition maybe many are suffering from Pendon fatigue as the amount of articles in the model railway magazines is ridiculous some of them may as well be *New Track pins put on The Vale* here's a six page special this is to the detriment of all modellers as other articles are pushed out for something that has been covered a thousand times. Jim This SRPS Rail tour with 025 was GBrf operated and 025 has been to Blackpool via the S&C so a few routes you sign You will just have to convince GBrf on the merits of getting a couple of 37s Was rumors 901 was going team GB but that seems not to be the case now

Jules Good to see another Scottish Region modeller here just a few points if may Class 37s were mostly still dual braked so they could be used with the older vac braked wagons As you have said you can't model Millerhill Yard in the space you have so try modelling one small corner of it where wagons and locos are stored and repairs are carried out have a look at Slateford yard and Rutherglen engineers sidings for inspiration of a small engineers yard/depot Also you could have the tail end of a few sidings covered by an override so loco comes in with a few wagons but the train is under the bridge loco runs round the train and wagons are hauled away giving the impression of a much longer train

Marlyn I really like this layout less is more! Great to see Far North Line represented as its often overlooked. Would like to see some class 26 and 37s on it as well. Also keep checking Oxford Diecast for suitable road vehicles Langley models also has some good kits for farming/construction vehicles from your era Dave

All This does seem like a good idea hopefully it works out Pacers wouldn't get up the first hill on the WHL and are being phased out Also I think the 158 plan for the WHL has been dropped and it will continue with 156s

All I would say it has been drafted in to replace a broken or unavailable SCR plough

Also Meant to say I think Haymarket lost its allocation of locos and became a sprinter depot in about 1990/91 so I think the ploughs would have been gone around that time as well Dave

All Having looked at the picture above I with the plough and the 37 in the background I am almost certain it's at Thornaby or Tees Yard hopefully somebody with more knowledge of the North East can confirm 37341 was a Thornaby loco but was stored in 94 this could be the Thornaby scrap line note the open bonnet door the 37 wasn't cut up until 03 so shows just how long items can be stored before cutting up Dave

All Hornby have more or less ignored D&E modellers a few new liveries but not much to go on As for the accessories which are as old as the hills most are available and still in reasonable quality from bargin bins at swapmeets shows and model shops nobody is going to buy these when there are lots of them around at pocket money prices Dave

Guys I am fairly sure snowploughs were long gone from Haymarket by 1/99 as stated above so this must have been stored elsewhere before it was cut up possibly at Slateford or Millerhill even maybe at Booths for a bit before being cut I am sure in 99 Scottish ploughs were based at Motherwell Carstairs and Inverness Dave

Guys I am looking for information and pictures on the KFAs open containers used on WHL to carry paper reels and aluminium ingots. I have a few questions were open containers the same and loaded with either ingots or paper? Also the limited photos I have seen of these wagons sometimes thy have stans ions but both these pics were 80s the 90s/00's pics they don't have them were the remote effects at some point Thanks Dave

Guys Hope I can shed some light on this one the steel trains were hauled by 86/87 but by the early 90s the steel trains were put into metals Sector working as the metals sector had no 86/87s allocated the trains were usually Class 37 hauled. I suspect when the 26s were used it was probably during a slow period for coal traffic am sure Longannet used to have a summer shut down of 2or 3 weeks Dave
