About Me
Have been interested in railways my whole life and modelling almost as long. Especially interested in railways in Scotland, Switzerland and Denmark and have at some stage modelled all of these, not often to conclusion! My trainspotting days were the mid to late seventies, so that BR corporate blue period is especially memorable for me. I was brought up in the central belt of Scotland so have fond memories of the class 27 pushpulls on the Edinburgh to Glasgow line. Also I worked on SRPS railtours in the seventies so have been up and down to Mallaig and Kyle more than a few times in this period.Currently embarking on a OO model of Glasgow Queen Street, in the fifties/sixties. Should keep me busy for a while.
As ever there will be distractions. I like to work on more than one thing at a time. So in 2021 I took time off from Glasgow Queen Street to build a gauge 3 diorama of Embo on the Dornoch branch. 2023 sees me contemplating a O gauge representation of RAF Leuchars to be placed alongside Glasgow. All of it has to be accommodated in a replica Highland Railway coach I have not built yet!
