All change on the layout. Been away awhile. Had alot of issues with the moving of the layout because of cold winters etc. and i ruined alot of points/point motors putting the ballast down finally getting it to a stage where its worth showing it again

Long time since my last post, lost my modelling mojo through the summer and was back working. Last couple of weeks slowly getting back at it, main cleaning and sorting stuff out. Managed to get the bridge ends done on the station side so just got to do the road surfaces now. Also made a start on the last of the hillside just need the shops to open Again so i can get some plaster bandages. Then next is to paint the bridges and ballast the station area.

Platforms are done and glued in place. Just got to put the white edging lines on. For anyone interested i made them from 18mm mdf with wills kit stone wallings cut into strips and glued along the sides then brushed on some smooth over plaster skim which was lightly sanded when dry to give a slighty uneven textured surface. I will try using the smooth over to do roads when i get to that point. As you can see my dog ellie loves trains lol

Starting to shape now even if it does look like a giant mr hankey lol hopefully get the track cleaned up tonight so i can run some locos again

Something abit different to the modelling. A couple of pics of the railway stuff in the garden. The lamps and signs are orginal railway stuff found on work sites by my mums fella over the years. Pub sign is just off ebay, looks good tho. The future plan is for an o gauge (or gauge 1 if i win the lotto!!!) railway in the garden but thats years away lol

Also done some more of the messy bit. The newspaper is just a start to get the shapes i want then i will use plaster bandages when im happy with it all. im liking it so far, needs a little work. Have not done this since i use to try make a blue peter style tracy island! (Maybe one day i might do that again for fun )
