  1. Well that's what`s it`s going to be ....when i have finished It`s an old dublo N2 , it`s amazing what Caustic soda and boiling water will do. The Chassis is built for 3 rail , but I will convert to 2 rail. I will Spray it in post war malachite green , and renumbered. Add 3 link coupling to the front , and smaller tension lock coupling to the rear ,wheels TBA , I may add detail as well
  2. the Triang/Hornby R226 utility van , I can get flush glazed windows . but can you get brass window Mesh/grills , there about 2mm squares. cheers Daryll
  3. We are talking coloured light signals. in absolute block signalling on a terminus station , are the platform starters 2 or 3 aspect , and , if 2 aspect are they red/green or yellow / green or another combination . If 3 , what are the colours , a Minories type layout
  4. Hi all , A bit of a dilemma , with 3 Triang EMU`s , to get to run on Code 75 track , I would need to re-wheel with ulrascale wheels. These . a bit expensive for three sets (almost £90) , the alternative is to use code 100 (peco) the track is a bit cheaper , with the cost of living etc , there only so much you can set aside on a pension
  5. just came back from the Model Railway Exhibition at Basingstoke , won a hat in the tombola and picked up a Hornby R868 M7 with Romford wheels, fulling working for £25 , very happy with that The M7 was £30 , but I offered £25 , it was accepted
  6. I have a few R156 power units and the trailing car ,apart from the power bogie , I took the old Triang bogies off , and replaced them with Bachmann Product Number: 36-005A.. I love these old but good Triang units , not as good as the new 2BIL etc , however would you hack a new 2BIL Daryll
  7. I am now retired , still a bit of work on the taxi , but now I have time to concentrate on the model railway

  8. Not sure if the Right section. I purchased the Metcalfe signal box kit ( PO 233 ) , I lost a window from the glazing sheet , I rang up Metcalfe and explained what a short sighted person I am , they said they would replace the whole glazing sheet , free of charge , not even postage , now that is what I call great service Daryll
  9. Hope this is in the right section I am Having a dilemma I need a small signal box , but I am un decided between the wills kit (SS 48) , of the Metcalfe (P0 233 or the smaller P0 430 ). I am open to suggestions. Daryll
  10. hi there 33C A friend of mine built a re magentizer , its 50/50 if you get the poles the right way round , as luck would have it , it was the right way round first time , a circuit diagram is available . https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Schematic-of-the-magnetizer-connected-with-the-coil-represented-by-Rmc-Lmc-The-elements_fig2_330520755 , the diagram is under copyright , so I only gave the link , looks a bit lethal if you ask me
  11. small up date. A rebuilt motor bogie , new bearings , felt pads , brushes ( these needed a slight mod), remagnetize magnet a good clean and a couple of drops of Sewing machine oil , purs like a kitten , both directions , very slow progress , due to illness
