Today 50 years ago I received my first electric train set. Triang Hornby green class 31 and 7 wagons, oval of track, I've just checked and this set must have sat in the shop for more than 2 years or my dad bought it when I was born!!.

And big grey Hornby 2 1/4 amp controller was a later present.

Quite a lot for a 3 year old. 

20 years ago I ventured into DCC and 10 years ago DCC Sound.

Wonder what will be the next big thing in 10 years time?.

Countless thousands of pounds I have spent have been worth every penny. Model railways does keep you sain, but can't unfortunately prevent depression. 5.5 months off work and achieved nothing.
