  1. Dave,

(Just tried to PM you, but apparently you can't receive pms anymore)

I was wondering if you might know of any rigid tender frame USA lcoos that might look good on the Santa Fe project. So far I've found this CB&G class N1, a almost LNER looking engine.

    Thank you,

I will think about this as I am mostly in O scale. Also, I will czech my settings for PM.

BTW it is the CB&Q; Chicago, Burlington & Quincy.

There are a lot of early locomotives that would look right at home out there but a three-axle rigid-frame tender might be difficult. They were never popular here; probably due to the loco's larger loading gauge which would require more fuel to be hauled; not to mention the longer distances between stations/fueling points.

PS: I looked at my profile but did not see anything about PM settings.

How many rolls of toilet paper had you tried to flush?

Earl Grey every afternoon, with a biccy or two occasionally.

Earl Grey with no milk, but a slice of lemon. Very refreshing. It's also the basis of iced tea of any flavour.

I used to drink Earl Grey. It is quite commendable.

But I have since moved up to Darjeeling (preferably first flush, the champagne of tea) and Pai Mu Tan.

And I am, for my sins, partial to green tea; at least, it's the only thing that I can find to drink in Starbucks.

  4. Bookshelf running at 150psi (give or take) as is only good and proper.

I never even finished the book, got 75% done though. It’s been 3 years now since I last looked in it, hence why I didn’t remember them.

I have read most (maybe all?) of the series; they are quite good, especially if read in chronological order as one can follow Sharpe's military progress throughout his career. BTW I think that is Harper leading the file with Sharpe on the right "checking their six". :jester:

  9. More bad news. I have discovered that the stuff I was going to buy for Luabo, hasn’t actually been manufactured since 2016, and no websites that I can find have it in stock, including eBay. So I regret to tell you all that Luabo Mill has been cancelled.

But on a more positive note I will be starting a new blog on whatever I am modeling, which may not always be strictly rail related.

have you tried the "wanted" advert here on RMweb? may be that someone has your rolling stock requirements lurking in their stock pile ?

Unfortunately I live in the USA so logistics might be a bit of a problem there.

  10. Bit of a crisis happening now at the Sena Sugar Estates. The company I ordered the loco and rolling stock from has just canceled the order after a month and a half without any explanation, so I am unsure as to what I will do. So there won’t be more blog entry’s for sometime probably.

    Stay healthy,

  12. Well I decided to post something more interesting, aka the station. Or at least what was the station. I scratch built it out of card and wood two years ago I think, but the canopy brackets are from Alexander models. It’s a bit undersize, and made of the “wrong material”, it should be stone, as I haven’t seen another station on the L&MR that wasn’t stone. If anybody has any advice on a small L&MR station, similar to Crown St., that would be greatly appreciated. Oh and the second pic is where that station was, this used to be a gwr shunting layout hence why the building may look rather gwr.

  13. Hi all,

I’m brand new to this, so my apologies if I do something a bit stupid. After years of debating, I decided on modeling a fictional branch of the Liverpool & Manchester sometime around 1843. I also get to do this from the USA, which makes things a lot harder, my main reason for attempting to scratch build most things. So off I go, into the unknown . . .

Welcome. That sounds like an interesting modelling project.....and don't worry about going off into the unknown....I think most on here are already there waiting for a new arrival!!
