Very nice looking over all result. My only attempts with a lining pen were on my two SM32 live steam locos. They are much bigger of course and more forgiving than a 4mm model and I kept it very simple. The results were not professional to my eye but look ok. These things take some mastering for sure and I'm from a fine art background!

Sky blue for the fade but it's about how thinly you spread it. It later had a very very thin layer of an earth color over all that to bring it down a little. The rest was done with a selection of rust and earth colors ( they sell packs of rust and earth color selections ).

I have for a while wanted a second 08 and had a mind to try doing a faded one. I've seen people do this a few different ways but recently saw some 20s given the treatment using Ammo Mig oil brushers. This looked to be quite effective and relatively hassle free so decided to give them a go. I think the result was a reasonable success. This was done entirely with the oil brushers using other artists brushes to blend etc, no air brushing or other paints or powders used on the faded one.

Mr Hankin has kindly shared some more old slides of west marsh. In this first one not only are there still slates on the signal box roof but the fly over is under construction. I think this puts it around 1982 or just before?

I have removed the metal security fence along Gilby Rd and put in some concrete posts. Also some of the Hawthorns have gone from the bank. This now looks more like the real place back in the day thanks to an image recently shared with me.

Last one for this evening, I have a few Cambrian BNA kits. The first of which is still a work in progress as seen here only now fitted with couplings and has been test run.

Thanks Barrie. My friend Geoff Hankin has kindly lent me his spotting notes from the 80s/90s . He worked close by at the time and kept a note of what he saw. Also some useful pictures he's shared with me. I think it was one of yours I saw recently (now gone from this site I think) of a BBA with cradles you had made, that too looked very nice. I was thinking about doing some myself but it looks like Cavalex will be producing some RTR...
