Meant to mention in the Marillion post - DeeExpus supporting last night, very strong performance imo. Possibly a bit much keyboard in place of guitar work, but well worth a listen nonetheless!

Seemed that the new stuff was getting a fairly lukewarm reception last night - it'll be interesting to see in time if it's less popular, or just because people don't really know it yet. Can't say it's doing much for me yet - it's alright, but the change in atmosphere for Neverland said it all.

Some good stuff in here, not just "good for that price" but genuinely good modelling. Highlights for me so far being the lima vans (what a transformation!) and the bridge girders (are they REALLY just offcuts of card?!). -

Beautifully detailed and weathered locos running on out of the box rakes of stock, half of which have the same running number and all of which are pristine, or worse, factory weathered! -
Tried offering him a few quid over what he paid? You never know, he MIGHT be interested in a quick sale (yes, I know, his prices suggest otherwise, but worth a shot?)

I'm starting to get there, I think - after a few drinks last night the song made perfect sense! To be fair, I never rated 'You're gone' particularly, but still consider Marbles one of the best albums ever written, so what do I know?

Taster of the new Marillion album 'Sounds that can't be made'... Reserving judgement on this one personally. A decent song, but it's not blowing me away. It could just be a slow burner of course, and we can't all like every bit of every album, just seems to be missing that spark. Nothing wrong with it especially, but for me it ain't no Neverland or This Strange Engine... There seem to be quite a few prog fans on here, so it'd be interesting to hear others' views.

Agreed. Is it really 'modelling', in the true sense of the word, to buy a far inferior model to those available at a fraction of the cost, then refuse to make any alterations to it?

Agreed - certainly I've bought stuff from them in the past (at more reasonable prices!) and would have no objections to dealing with them again, but at those prices I'd get a train up to Sheffield and buy at RRP!

Lost the links, but tonight I've witnessed a Bachmann 08 go for £98 and a mk1 BG for £42, from our friends in Sheffield... I appreciate a trusted seller will push up the price to an extent, but what's going on?!
