  1. So today was a busy day, spend almost all day laying 6 pieces of track but i do like the result. Looks pretty decent I think. I also uploaded a new video
  2. So after some radio silence we got some exiting news. After seeing pictures of the monsal viaduct i really wanted to add it on the layout. But where to put it, everything was already planned and no room for another viaduct. But what about the room in front of the door? Yeah wy not. So we changed the trackplan a bit and now we got room for a viaduct. Here is the raw shape of my liftup section. 2 bridges will be here soon with a road and river below. The tracks are temporary now but I really like the look of it. Especially with the blue pullman on it or a hst125
  3. This layout remains a inspiration for my version of Miller's Dale and its surroundings. After seeing your Bridge i also decided i would need it. So pretty busy on building it on a removable section. I am really interested in seeing how your station is developing and the making of the platform. Especially with the curves
  4. So we moved on a bit with the layout. The first parts of the landscape are taking shape. This is a real big boost to move on with the layout. I still had 2 boxes full of Noch terra-form so this was to be used on the layout. So i am pretty happy with the current result. I will extend it over the helix but i need to tweak the helix a little so i have to do that first. Ibce5 that is done i will add a layer of crepe paper from noch also before sticking the rocks on it and finish it with Noch Sculpta mold. Bit like of plaster but you can easily create Rocky surface fron it or make it smooth. When all is done you have a lightweight hill side. We also made a small start on the other side of the layout for a removable piece of landscape above the fiddle yard. The wooden frame will he screwed to the baseboard and a polystyreen plate will come on top of it wich can be removed. Something i have planned for the next few days You can also watch my second video on my layout
  5. Really nice work on that engineshed. Really looks good. Keep up the good work
  6. Yet another video, making progress on the backscenes
  7. So today i posted a first proper video of my layout ob YouTube
  8. So another update. After laying tracks and pulling way to many wires it's finally time for some scenery. I made a small test piece with vallast but i am not really happy about it. Its way to red/brown for the peak district so i need to shop for new stuff. But this didn't stop me to start working on the scenery. It's not much yet but i have glued down the first tunnel entrances, retaining walls On the otjer side of the room i started making a triple entrance on different levels. Its not really prototypical but it wil look pretty nice when it's done. Sadly i run out of portals so i can't finish it at the moment. So will have to start with building op the landscape with Noch terraform. Also a start is required for the lift out section above my fiddleyard.
  9. Now it's just a challenge to get it in the Netherlands. They won't ship outside the UK
  10. Even for the 60s 70s? https://www.geoscenics.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=129 Like this one?
  11. Hello again I am building a layout based on Miller's Dale and the midland mainline. Now i was wondering what would be the right ballast around the 60/70s. I now have some from dcc supplies https://www.dccconcepts.com/product/2mmn-scale-ballast-brown-blend/ LB-2BB But from geo scenics you have a ballast type that is made from limestone. Now you do have allot of limestone around the midlands so i was kinda wondering if that was more accurate? Or is my current ballast fine and bow it's time to start working on it?
  12. Not much done today. Received a small package containing some short couplings with magnets. With a option to make them electronically for lighting. Still need to test them on the layout but the look good already. Maby i can even try the shorter versions also but let's try this ones first,
  13. This looks like a amazing layout. Any change there is a trackplan?
  14. Another day another update. After some backpain we finally finished laying tracks. Pretty happy with it. Now starts the progress of many hours of running and testing trains. After we finished the tracks the fun part started. Having trains run on the branchline. Everything went according to plan until i started with coaches behind my locomotive. So this morning i started addressing all the bad parts in the branchline. Tweaking the helix until we reach the current stage of trains running without issues in the 2 helixen. Sadly the rapido coupling do prefer to let go. Funny thing is the never let go in the helix vut always after the helix. So I need to try some other couplings. Any suggestions are welcome. But we no2 have laid the most important tracks so we can start on the landscape in severance sections. Secondary we can start making something toblift outt at the helix. Judt to be sure. Trains aleays stop where you can't reach them. And lastly here is some proof of a class 36 doing his job. Maby I will start a blog on YouTube if people would like that
  15. Another day, another update I finished the branchline station today. All tracks are ready to be wired up to the occupation boards. Note to myself, remove train before building on your layout. So after that i turn my attention towards the third fiddleyard. Not sure if you would call 2 tracks a fiddleyard but we like to dream big All the trackbed is in place so i can start laying down the tracks. I do hope to start running tests within 2 days.
  16. New years day, new progress Well some progress haha Started working on the branchline after putting put every time. After some thinking i decided to put in a small station rather than a single line. The village will be fictional but bit inspired on Rannoch. The idea is to place the station building a bit higher than the platform. I do wanna make the station and the hill it will be build on removable so i can acces the fiddleyard bellow it
  17. Thank you for the links. Now I will surely buy the second one and probably also the north western bus. Not sure if you would see double-deckers in rural places. But than again here in the Netherlands we don't have doubledecker busses
  18. Probably goinf to stick with the midland red bus. Its the obly bus i can find in N gauge that is kinda close to reality. I can always find decal with trent in the future
  19. Ow i just found out its East Midland Motor Services
  20. Just found put that Midland Red had a route that passed Miller's dale towards Buxton. So that's 1 type of bus i can buy
