  1. @JonathanDavidson What type of computer operating system (Windows, Linux, iWhatever) are you using, and, with all due respect, how computer savvy are you? (By which I mean could you configure a network card?) Roco's Z21 Maintenance Tool only works properly under Windows and via a direct LAN connection. Guessing you're probably running Windows, do you know how to configure a network card to a fixed address? If not, you will need to seek assistance as the computer must be hard configured to speak directly with the z21 over this isolated LAN. If you can answer Yes to being able to sort these, then, IMHO, @JohnDMJ's advice holds: If you are not running Windows then probably https://www.roco.cc/en/aboutus/contactform/index.html will be your best bet. They speak good English!
  2. It is my understanding from previous communications on the subject with the that, whilst Heljan have sent ALL of their spares to them, the list is not fully comprehensive. Rather than use a forum to try and disgrace a local supplier, might it be more beneficial to contact Heljan direct at Heljan@Heljan.dk to get the official view?
  3. Sorry for stirring a potential hornets' nest! I consider myself a modeller, although I have impediments / inabilities to achieve some goals. As an example, I have an impaired shoulder which can cause arm oscillations so violent that, if I am trying to drink something from a cup, or soup from a spoon, most of it can end up on the table. Painting is not an option for me, especially numbering; however, the likes of Dapol often produce nu-numbered models and I am more than happy for someone very much more capable than I to adorn it appropriately. Regarding the less fine detail of a model, I can happily build a layout on which to run the models (although my soldering is starting to suffer a little!) I hope that you, Mick, and the Mods see the above as a reason for not so doing!
  4. Silly question, but with Oxford now owned by Hornby, is another price increase imminent?
  5. First observation: So I suggest you bought the GWR version in the UK (might want to check the seating arrangement in coach 4!) and the LNER set from Japan. I believe it's only the roughly 10% of the total 800s produced that are coming to the UK; only these have track. This why this thread is in the 'small suppliers' group! To (mis)quote Alphaville, Kato is BIG in Japan (but very very small, bordering on miniscule in the UK)!
  6. Your signature "CURRENTLY OFF ALL SOCIAL MEDIA CHANNELS DUE TO AN INCREASED AMOUNT OF ONLINE HARASSMENT BY MANY FORUM MEMBERS. PLEASE REFRAIN FROM CONJURING UP STUPID THEORIES ABOUT ME AND THE PEOPLE I WORK WITH AND TRYING TO SHAME US PUBLICLY." speaks volumes and much more than your response! Ask the question direct rather than speculate over a forum.
  7. Given that when a certain S.K. came back into the fold, the Junior range disappeared without trace as he had seen Marklin's myWorld at the Warley show, future developments will be interesting. Whilst the red track looks to have its own connections, I wonder how long it will be before an adaptor track is produced to allow PlayTrains to run onto Dad's layout? Needless to say that Marklin already have adaptor track (their plastic track is simply their existing C Track but fully molded in plastic; even the central studs are included!) and adaptor wagons with an NEM socket so that their myWorld wagons can run happily on Dad's layout. Given the similarity between PlayTrains and myWorld, if there hasn't been collaboration between Marklin and Hornby, then a lawsuit may not be far off!
  8. There is, indeed, a thread on this forum specifically for the Playtrain, as, indeed, there are for all the differing areas in which Hornby have made announcements; however, I was of the impression that The Stationmaster had set up this independent thread as an overview, regardless of specifics, thus covering all aspects of the releases.
  9. Fair point and one which Marklin addressed; some controllers / locos worked on channels A & B whilst others worked on channels C & D! Seeemples!
